You're still sliding a rope through a non rotating object that WILL hurt your rope (wire or synthetic). Just get a strong enough rope that you don't have to worry about breaking it and use a snatch block.
Looks like a great way to destroy a soft shackle. If I was forced to use one of these, I'd do it sparingly. Why not just drop an extra $30 and buy a proper snatch block? 🤔
