I appreciate your assistance. This allowed me to identify the issue with mine. But, olive oil is a fantastic alternative if silicone lubricant isn't available!!!
Hello, I have a music box that just clicks when you wind it and nothing plays. I opened it up and as I turn the gears manually, it plays. Do you know what the problem is ?
Oh, I have the same problem. When I manually turn this drum, it plays music. But when I try to start it, somewhere in the middle while I start it, it’s as if something is flying off the axle... Or something like this, it just doesn’t start all the way, only until the middle and then there’s a click, as if something has fallen off, and let’s turn it on again, but the music still doesn’t play until you manually turn the drum. I don't know how to solve this problem.. ;( (and sorry, I’m writing through a translator)
I saw another vidio and it said that dust gets on the past where he spun ima call it the wings so just take some wd40 andbut it on the tip of the screw thing and at the top of the flaps. Hope that makes sense
@@jadenewright5377im very sure that its the metal shaft inside the chamber thats the problem i checked and it might be displace as i have the same problem
I have the same music box, but the gears to the right of the long horizontal axle has stripped some gears. Do you know where I can source a replacement?
I have 2 porcelain angels very similar to those. The only difference is that the bottom is not cardboard, its plastic. Mine spins but still wont play, it is over wound and ive also turned it the opposite way also to try and unstick it, i have a feeling someone has fixed it before also because theres glue on mine and it is starting to come apart. Maybe they screwed it on too tight? No idea.
