Located near the pretty town of Kendal, our Windermere Club Site is perfect for outdoor adventurers who want to get to know the Southern Lake District. The site is spacious and well laid out, with modern family facilities, lovely views and an excellent pub restaurant at the entrance to the site, The Whistling Pig. Across the fields is the village of Staveley with its shops, pubs and the Hawkshead Brewery, and from here you can follow various walks including Potters Fell and Reston Scar, each offering glorious scenery and panoramic views. The lakeside town of Bowness-on-Windermere is around 8 miles from the campsite and offers plenty of attractions including sailing, watersports, walking, and The World Of Beatrix Potter. Another great day out is Claife Heights, accessed by ferry across the lake from Bowness-on-Windermere. Visit the National Trust Viewing Station to enjoy panoramic views of Windermere and, if you listen closely, you may hear the Aeolian wind harp. Explore the woodlands and meadows of Ash Landing Nature Reserve just down the road, and if you fancy a good stroll, follow the 4-mile lakeshore path to Wray Castle.
