So tempted, what's it like for a southpaw though?

Not bad actually, diameter and circumference of the loop and ring guards are level to each other making it ambidextrous compared to other swept and basket hilted swords. But due to the ring guard placement it is technically a right handed sword.

Another thing, this sword is made from 1095.....not 1065. That's a bit of a difference

You are correct, that's an error on my end, thanks for pointing that out. Two questions though, what was the first thing? And secondly, do you have an opinion on the two different carbon contents between 1095 and 1065? Couldn't tell by your comment which you actually prefer, it is a bit of difference but nothing detrimental really between the two types, as along as they are properly heat treated.

@DynamoSwordChannel for the life of me i cannot remember why I started that sentence that way. I do remember it was bad, was just a minor point, like the steel used. As far as preference, honestly that depends. 1095 is going to make for more effective thrusts and cuts due to being stiffer. But the 1065 is going to be more forgiving if your edge alignment is off, or you hit something that is way harder than you should. The 1095 has a higher chance of chipping, taking a set, or even breaking. 1065 is more forgiving if you goof. Even maintenance varies. 1095 is going to keep an edge longer, however it is much more susceptible to corrosion. The 1065 isn't as prone to erosion, but it needs sharpening more frequently. So it depends (at least for me) what I am using them for, where I am using them at, and if shit hit the fan....what is better for the situation. Now I have the Munich being built for me by LK Chen, as well as their Niu Wei Dao. They are made from what they call high magnanese spring steel which is SUPPOSE to be very durable, yet springy as well as corrosion resistant. I'm looking forward to see how they perform. To give ot a fair test, I also commissioned a different ox tail dao made from 1065. I am keeping the two dao together and mimicking everything I do with the 2 in order to see how the 1065 and magnanese spring steel compare

That is NOT a rapier. Sorry dude, I'm in Matt Easton's corner on this one, a swept hilt doesn't make it a rapier,

Easton can have his opinions as well as any other. There is a difference between a military Rapier and a Civilian Rapier. Majority of people shoe horn the Rapier in the Civilian category. Military Rapier were broader and yes had intricate swept hilts. I suggest you read up on Oakeshott's book, "European weapons and armor from the Renaissance to Industrial period" for further understanding on the intricacies of the different types of Rapier and hilting. Point being semantics or not we know what the sword is by use and time placement. Kinda like the Claymore argument. Is the Claymore a two-handed greatsword or is it a single hand basket hilted sword? Does it really matter? We know what each individual sword is and its use and timeline regardless of title.

The pommel isn't an unclassified ovoid type, it's a Turks head pommel. And just so you know, Windlass is supposed to be redoing this sword since there's no distal taper, a secondary bevel, and flexes throughout the whole blade instead of just the second half, which is how a blade like that should flex. Did you seriously pronounce Munich with the ch sound? Wow, dude, you are all over the place with this video... that's two things mispronounced, a couple things that were totally wrong and important features totally ignored, like edge geometry.

Yea not a turks head, but ok it seems like you're having fun nitpicking so whatever floats your boat. If you have experience or input to add go ahead and post your own review. I mean that's really all reviews are, opinions and details based on research and experience. I would rather look at reviews as being informative and a shared conscience of opinions from a pool of enthusiasts, rather than reviews or reviewers being competitive toward one another. There's always something new to learn and research to be had. Closing ourselves to one side or being critical with bias rather than constructive neutrality is an easy way to be ignorant.
