Gets really annoying that in this series there are not enough results shown. Great ideas, nice BTS, hard to tell if anything is actually working. 4,000,000 shutter clicks and 3 images? Does not work for me.

"Just kinda let yourself relax, think about, you know, the beautiful light... hum you know. Whatever". This made my day.

isnt it too much clicking just for one shot at the time ? or its just me !!!!
@JEDINITE30
@JEDINITE30 7 лет назад
There is a lot of subtlety in movement. You may have a manager or director overseeing the images and needs variety to choose from. The pick in a series of shots may be like the 10th shot. Also just in case of the accidental out of focus shot you will have back up. It works. I know exactly what you mean though. It also boils down to style.
@uandersonbrittes6526
@uandersonbrittes6526 7 лет назад
i believe he was just bracketing. (and maybe two or three more to have the right focus guaranteed)
@JEDINITE30
@JEDINITE30 7 лет назад
I highly doubt he was bracketing.
@uandersonbrittes6526
@uandersonbrittes6526 7 лет назад
why?
@JEDINITE30
@JEDINITE30 7 лет назад
The purpose for bracketing is to gain dynamic range. It is unnecessary for this type of shoot and the location. Also pay attention to the cadence of the models posing. For bracketing, the model would freeze for a 3 or 5 click beat then flow into the next pose.

He just has to be one of the top Photographers/Story Tellers in the industry. Its always a pleasure to see him work as he is such an easy going and relaxed guy. I am hoping he will visit Scotland again. Would be great to meet the legend.

I like how by working it, the magic presented itself. That's the beauty of a daylight studio.

the model is absolutely brilliant. oh please send me models with these skills. with zero direction she is working poses with the light. awesome. I think with the three head shot they needed a single point to focus all their eyes on, love the concept. And Joe finally started giving some direction, could see the models relax because they then knew they were doing what the tog wanted.

I have one question. For what shutter was so fast? They stay like statue... Good video guys, you give a kick to action.
@mark.k440
@mark.k440 7 лет назад
Fast shutter due to wide aperture and lots of light, no need to stop down for greater DoF.
@WoodyONeal
@WoodyONeal 7 лет назад
Marcin Le I think you mean fast frames per second? If so, shooting lots of frames takes away chances of closed eyes.

at 6.56 you rattled off approx 15 - 20 shots in Aperture priority without changing any setting on your camera nor did the models move, how come ?? there doesn't seem any point, maybe take a few shots just in case the models blink or smile or what ever, or if your changing composition or adjusting focal length, you you didn't seem to do this either.

Wouldn't a scene like this one be perfect for using a light meter?

So true
@DanielNortonPhotographer
@DanielNortonPhotographer 7 лет назад
Joe was using the meter in the camera as the light was changing quickly. If he locked in a manual exposure set with a hand held meter he would have had to keep stoping to re-meter
