My Bird Nest order arrived! Now that I have the window motor torque pucks, I show how to install them.
Welcome to Jamieson's Repair Shop!
My current retirement project is restoring a rusted out 1965 Thunderbird convertible from the inside out.
I'm taking it apart, repairing everything that needs repairing and putting it all back together.
I'm doing body work, paint removal, rust removal, metal fabrication, welding, forming, patching, and that's just the beginning!
Down the line there will be interior and engine work as well.
Come on into the shop and take a look!

Well done Alvin! I know I learned that it’s very simplistic and I’ll use this video on my son’s 65. And I’ll check out this birds nest that I’ve never heard of. Thanks again, and as always I look forward to your next video.

Alvin, Another good job, my friend. Window regulators have always been my nemesis, manual or power. It looks like mine (manual) will need to come out, but I'll delay that mess as long as possible. Regards, John

Thank you John... I'm not fond of doing them either, they always seem to be just a little bit too big for the hole you need to get them through. 😵‍💫

Nice video for those who have never worked on these regulators before. I agree about Bird Nest. They are great folks. I dealt with Tbird HQ for many years and have nothing against them. Bird Nest will take the time and help you with the little stuff as their staff is very knowledgeable. I first worked on the 66 Thunderbird regulator in 1971 when I hit a huge pothole on the right side of my hardtop. It must have flexed the body enough to jam the right window and it quit working. I took it apart and the factory gear was rubber which had split. I got a replacement gear at the ford dealer and it looked like the one you are working on here. BTW it was like $36.00 at the time and my part time high school job paid about a$40 a week so it was a big investment. Lol. I bought that 66 five window hardtop at a Ford dealer in Pauls Valley Oklahoma when the original owner traded it. I paid 900 dollars in 1970. Gasoline at the local Hudson Hornet station was 18.9 for regular and 19.9 for premium. The car was Mariner turquoise with parchment leather interior. It had AC PW and P/seat. Wish I had that same car now. Good times.

Hi Jeff, great to hear the old car stories...it was a different time for for sure! I was pumping gas a my dads Irving Station when gas went over a $1.00 a gallon (Imperial). the pumps only had three digits back then...so a little math was required for those that wanted to buy gas based on money, and not by the gallon..."Put $7.50 in her". Lol

I put in the door and rocker plugs in the greater scheme of the work you done on your car putting in the plugs will mostly amount to easy peasy, though they require a little more than ordinary effort.

Hopefully not too much extra effort for an old guy like me! lol

Just my opinion, but if your old one is showing signs of rust/corrosion, and you can afford a new one, I would put it in...as you know it's a lot of work to get at them.
