We are finally putting in window trim and it absolutely transforms the look of my fixer upper house!! I hope you love it as much as I do!
Hey there! My name is Abby and I recently bought a MAJOR fixer upper house. I am SO excited to work on fixing it up this old house and turning it into my dream home. I can't wait to take you on this journey with me! I am planning to DIY as much as I can and learn so much about home renovations along the way. I am starting out totally clueless so I am sure it will be a grand adventure! The window trim looks wonderful without over complicating it with mitered corners. I am so excited to see all of the progress. Keep up the good work. The stain color is perfect. It makes the windows pop without being overwhelming.

I'm tearing up a bit seeing the new windows framed out and the finished walls in the bay. I remember you putting Christmas 'trees' up in that bay the last few years, even as rough as it was that first Christmas when it was trimmed branches stuck in a bucket! It's so wonderful to see your dream getting so much closer to being a reality! Just awesome. So happy for you and thankful for Jay and everyone else who has helped you on your journey. 🎉❤🎉

Abby, the windows are beautiful. If you sand and stain the boards before Jay cuts them, you can do that outside. The mess will be out of your house. Plus sanding and staining long boards would be much easier. 😊

....especially if you make yourself 2 (or 3) simple sawhorses to support the timber whilst you stain. It will avoid you having a back ache.

This trim was such a great design idea. I agree with everyone else that says Jay is a gem! He reminds me of my older brother who is a retired painter with the patience and eye for detail. Your home is looking beautiful.

I do like the straight across pieces rather than the angle cuts. I think we probably grew fancy later so the straight is typical of the era of the house 😅

Abbey! I can’t wait for this year’s CHRISTMAS TREE!!! can you even imagine how amazing it’s going to look in the bay window, lit?
