If you can, position the window with the other participant's video as close to the camera as you can, so that when you are looking at the participants, it appears to them like you are looking at them.
I honestly think that Microsoft should release some tool that would allow you to passthrough your camera from your Android/iOS phone as a webcam in windows. I know there are already a few solutions but this would be life saver for everyone in these days.

First of all, thanks for these tips & Tricks. My setup for video chats and meetings while WFH is the built-in camera on my Lenovo ThinkPad and Surface earbuds, I can add to these tips to have some green screen if possible if you need more privacy in your home.
That’s not going to do anything for video conferencing, and the target demographic for these videos is not going to be able to learn a whole new operating system
