These are sounds in Windows 10. Some of these sounds were never used but Microsoft decided to keep the sound files in the Windows\Media folder. Join my Discord server: / discord Follow me on Twitter: / sonicrush007
Please read this before commenting! I feel the need to write this comment because some are falsely accusing me of using the wrong or fake sounds in this video. Please note that my intent was not to mislead. I tried to make it clear in the video that all of these sounds exist in the OS, but were never used, hence why I put "(Unused)" at the end of each of the names of the sounds that didn't get used. Each of these sounds came from the C:\Windows\Media folder. For some reason, Microsoft kept a lot of Windows 7 and other sounds that never got used by the OS in there. They have been doing this since Windows 8. I am not trying to mislead anyone and this channel is based on truth, not lies. Also, Windows 10 does actually use that startup sound, but is disabled by default. You can quite easily enable it. You can read about that here: winaero.com/blog/enable-startup-sound-in-windows-10/
i had windows 10 from late 2016, when i was 9 years old, until 2022. that's almost 8 years ago. however, the background sound is traumatizing rather than nostalgic :,D what is nostalgic is windows 8. i had the original surface tablet when it first came out because my dad got it for me with a microsoft employee discount lol.
Not sure why that would happen. Your PC shouldn't be in when plugging in a GPU unless you want to fry it and the motherboard, or unless you are referring to an external thunderbolt GPU than that's a different story, or so I think. And yes, I'm half joking when I say this.
It isn't a click. It's the Windows 7 startup sound. The issue here is that the c:\windows\media folder does not actually hold all of the sounds used. In fact, in Windows Vista to some version of Windows 10, the startup sound was found in imageres.dll and then later moved to imageres.dll.mun. The only way to change the startup sound is to modify those files depending on what version of Windows you are using. Also you can hear the Windows 7 startup sound if you enable it in the sound scheme menu and disable fast startup.
What it seems to be is that whatever sound files they don't replace, they keep. The Windows 7 shutdown sound still exists in the C:\Windows\Media folder in Windows 10 despite having no way of enabling it. There are also tons of other Windows 7 sounds kept as well. If you have Windows 10 running on your PC, go check out the C:\Windows\Media folder. ;)
@@muro2904 Please link read more on the pinned comment and the link is there which shows you how to do that. (you were supposed to read that before commenting).
The first one always does that when it goes to sleep by itself when I'm on the internet even though I have it plugged in. Could be the built-in battery messing it up because it's a dead battery.
Yup. Whatever sounds that didn't need to be replaced were kept in the Windows 10 media folder. There are a bunch of Windows 7 sounds kept in the C:\windows\media folder but I didn't include them because there are so many of them and aren't exactly relevant to the video.
That version of ringin is very similar, but it's not the same one. That version I think originated in Windows Vista. Here's a short 30 second video I did on Windows 2000 sounds: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BH5WknM0eek.html It has the same sounds as Windows 98 except for the startup and shutdown sounds.
Because Microsoft decided on retaining the startup sound except having it disabled by default. There is no Windows 10 logon sound, but the logon.wav sound seen in the media folder was from Windows 8 which went unused.
0:59 - This sound is of Windows 7 but i don't understand why it's also for Windows 10. There is a Windows 10 startup sound when it was first introduced. Also Windows 10 has the same shutdown sound as Windows 7. It is only heard in the earliest computer models built with this OS of Windows.
There is no special startup and shutdown sounds in Windows 10. Windows 10 uses the Windows 7 startup sound which is disabled by default and no shutdown sound. Just because the sound exists in the media folder doesn't mean that it was used. It's a common misconception that every file that is in the C:\windows\media folder is being used by the OS. No it does not. This has been the case since Windows 8.
@@NeilPrasad_1905 Dude. Do you not use Windows 10? Windows 7's sound is obviously used in Windows 10 if you even look at the settings even once and set the startup sound to play. I use Windows 10 myself and I know this very well. If you even looked at my channel once, you'd know I very much know what I am talking about when it comes to Windows sounds.
@@Sonicrush007 On Windows 10. Because for me, I've never heard it my entire life. The worst I've heard was a connection sound only to be followed by a "USB device malfunctioned" pop-up.
HoriaGRomania All Vista and 7 sounds are there in the media folder in Windows 10 as well. I don’t understand why Microsoft would spend money to get people to produce these sounds and never use them. The logon sound was made, yet Microsoft decided to not have a logoff sound in Windows 8 and later.
@@HoriaGeorge as they have the fast startup enabled (you wouldn't want to mess it up), they don't enable the startup sound by default but you can enable it in the sound settings (theme customization)
If you want any of the Unused Sounds, you can open Change System Sounds in Control Panel and now you can change program sounds with any sound you want.
@Máté Gál It says background but I often hear that sound and when I go to check what's going on, there's no pop ups or anything, nor is there any app in my taskbar orange
The sound is already on your PC if you are running Windows 10. Obviously it is not used at all. It's located at C:\Windows\Media\Windows Logon.wav There is a tutorial on Winaero which shows how to get a logon sound (sort of) but it works through task scheduler, so if your computer is slow, you won't have the absolute best experience with it: winaero.com/play-logon-sound-windows-10/
