So basically AI is now almost doing the things the assistants promised to do 10 years ago

Bing Chat is amazing but they really need to work on that response time. I feel like we're still in the dial-up era of AI assistants.

It's amazing how many times Microsoft has tried to saddle us with an assistant to talk to, and it STILL is way less efficient than just doing everything yourself.

It's kinda hilarious how you can both open up Windows Copilot and use Bing Chat and in Edge you can also use Bing Chat Essentially you end up with two panels, one on Windows and the other on Edge

0:46 I've been triggered by the lack of spacing between the right-click flyout and the taskbar for months now. This wasn't an issue in the earliest versions of Windows 11. The day they fix that will be a great day.

For the file explorer update: it's just so sad to see that it is way slower to load than the previous versions (from previous W11 updates also). I hope they will fix this quickly

They still have not fixed the white flash when opening apps or tabs in dark mode, especially opening new tab in file explorer, it's quite bad.

I had a good idea in the sound thing about 12:00. Imagine a scenario where you're playing a game but you don't want a game music to hear so much but music to play in back. I think game music should be slightly controlled automatically while listening other forms of music in background.

I think it would be useful if it can help you troubleshoot errors and problems that give you a hard time finding a solution. Like some random error code popping on the screen when you're trying to do something.

Basically adding more steps than usual but would help on things that are harder to execute or find.

Hi, as far as I understood, you can give it access to your excel sheets (other ms office apps), and tell it what you want to be done with the sheets. Would be great to see an example on it. Thx

In the amount if time it took to take a screenshot, I could take 8 just by using the keyboard shortcut. I have no idea how this is a necessary addition.

I REALLY hope they implement a Search Icon at the taskbar but when I click it, it became Search Box (Windows icon to the left, and other icons to the right)

if you ignore the AI stuff, lots of stuff, i love the .rar and 7zip support, im sure people Windows Subsystem for Linux will also find .tar a handy one to have too! the sound options are also a great addon, now i can hear my friends talk while gaming!

It'll be great, only if the response time is very fast. If you have to wait 10 seconds for it to do a basic task, then it defies the point of being useful imo.

I really like that Bing Chat is basically cortana 2.0, it would be nice if a voice was added to it to make it more like an assistant.

The File Explorer side view is a mess since 22H2. You can easily have your Downloads, Desktop folders showing 2-3 times.

Why would I type 50 characters to change a setting when I can do it with 2-3 clicks? 🤔

It takes long enough to do those things, and in some cases doesnt even do them automatically. In the same time you can type the same action into the search bar, and get it done without having a portion of your screen taken up, and without an additional program running.

It's time for MS to stop trying to make assistants happen and refocus on the actual elements that most of the userbase actually interacts with on a regular basis. I just don't understand how their priorities are sorted out.

if this is "copilot" it is DOA. My suggestion: Bring back Cortana with ChatGPT inteligence.

That green progress animation in the file explorer address bar at 10:10 drives me crazy in File Explorer. What is it doing? Whenever I open a new Explorer window or tab, it has to like scan the folder? What is that thing, and what is it doing?

Man I want more than anything for dark mode to get a serious UI pass. It's so poor. You frequently come across system windows that are white background, black text (the file properties window as an example). I'm running this build. I turned of the bing co-pilot thing ASAP. Just no interest personally. Very glad to have the quick access to volume mixer again. The main page in the settings app looks nice. It's nice having native support for far more compression formats including RAR and .7z That's about it so far.

I find the co pilot is what cortana should have been . If cortana could be developed like this ,there is no need for any other ai integreted to windows.

We’re embedding so much A.I. into our computer systems these days. We’ll eventually just have the computer run itself and we just prompt what we want it to do.

Cortana used to do things without you touching your computer. Copilot needs you to type in the command - it’s not a voice assistant. In case I can access my computer, there’s no need for this “Copilot” obstruction layer. Besides, Copilot is probably the stupidest name for a smart assistant. Cortana’s name at least had some character to it.

Volume mixer was added after it was removed, like so many other things. LMAO. Windows 11 is still a beta and continues to be more than a year after its release.

Windows 11 is the best OS in history, no other system can be compared to it. So beautiful UI and incredible performance.

Looks like Copilot still requires quite a bit of work. I rarely use Bing AI Chat as is and I doubt many people will be using Copilot regularly just like Cortana.

soon as they fix all the issues and the AI has full access and can do everything you can and also is quick ill use it all the time

I really don't understand Microsoft and Windows 10 and Windows 11. They bring out Windows 11 without many of the features of Windows 10 ... the users complain and slowly Microsoft add in the features! What was the point of Windows 11? Why take out features? It's like Microsoft has little idea of what users want and use. Or Microsoft is trying to pull users in one direction and then the users rebel and say "no" so Microsoft has to backtrack. But this isn't the first time Microsoft has gone off in their own direction only to be told by users "no", remember Windows 8! And in a few years there will be Windows 12 ... and the whole thing begins again. Will Windows 12 be "complete" before its released to the public - no - bits will be added because users will complain that essential bits have been taken out. My advice to Microsoft - stop messing with Windows - sure bring out new stuff, but leave the old familiar stuff in there. Customisation is the key here. A new look and feel should be an option which users can choose to ignore. This way users that like the new stuff are happy ... and users who don't like the new stuff are not unhappy!

First action on a new windows install: get rid of all the spying, useless bloatware; so I trash Edge, Bing, Cortana etc.

So what i think would be cool is if windows could listen to me or see what im doing for example let’s just say that you’re calculating some thing and you accidentally forgot a number so now you just ask the copilot what was the number that I calculated last or something like that just so that can remind you that’s a small thing but helpful I’m not just saying just for calculator. It be cool if you could do it for some other things, or you’re just typing in and some chat and call pilot reads the message that I sent to you and copilot immediately proposes some answers or a playes Besa rrall the conversation was going I’m talking as you’re doing this live

some stuff is way faster with keyboard shortcuts, why wasting time typing that into copilot? hope they will put a voice mode cuz this will make things faster imo.

"again , not very fast" Well the reason is that everything is being send to the cloud. So you have to wait. It is not processed on the machine.

I won't switch to Windows 11 before they enable an option to change the size of this stupid big taskbar. It was possible before through the registry but they disabled it!? Absolute nonsense.

It needs way more features. It should be able to do as I ask and arrange my desktop just by asking - at a bare minimum., If you type "sound controls" it should just appear blow and be dynamic with what it can show you. It should be able to diagnose your PC issue and give you the output in a way that a normal person would understand, then fix it - unless hardware is needed. If this thing was smart, like fast, sharp, knowledgeable, had a great persona. I could see this evolve from just Windows PC rapidly, it's the OS that is beyond Windows and Numbers. Copilot is a terrible for consumers. They should have done a whole "Cortana Reborn" thing, or Clippy. Copilot is boring and corporate, they missed hard there.

They lost me right at requiring MS Edge.... And how is this different from the dreaded Clippy? Don't get me wrong, I'm typing this on Windows 11. I dislike Microsoft's insistence on trying to hard wire all of Windows to Bing and Edge. Let the users decide that, please.

Those response times will make no one want to use it. Even the slowest version of Cortana was significantly faster than that lol.

The only exercise most nerds get is moving the mouse or game controller. Will AI take that away?

Please take your time with this Microsoft and not release it until fully baked.
