Thank you for the video instructions. Would you have a way in which to back up the internal ongoing storage disk each time I plug in the USB drive that backs it up? I usually back up by drag drop but it would be easier if the computer only made a copy of the recently changed files. (This is not a system back up but just a new work back up.) Thanks.
how can i know how much space i need on a external drive or USB when i want to backup everything in case of a crash and i cant boot back into windows??
Quick question man....I already made a backup of my files to a toshiba external hard drive. Does backing up again to the same drive replace the old backup already in there or does it basically add it again, hence having 2 same backups? Also, if I create an image of my current system (windows 7), it basically has all the programs I have installed in my computer....will this image replace the backup I currently have in my external drive? Thanks!
Good video! I am having an issue the only choice I have for the location of my back up is the cd drive. This, which you know. is not an option. How do I change my location to the C-Drive from the CD drive? Thanks for the help
Thanks now i can upgrade my 32bit laptop to 64bit(and yes i had 64bit before, i just had to reset it and it converted to 32bit for some reason, so im in the clear there)
if i select the whole of the c drive and the image of the drive...does that mean if my hdd ever fails i have a copy of all my software..programs and files which would then let me use it including the os?
Lewis::i think so,from what i to want to do,i want to make sure i have the drivers and the os,before i do a clean install of windows 7,since i just traded my computer for a different one.i just want to be clean, and install my own programs and all
In the case of his system - the backup file was less than 5 gig. So if one has a 60 gig USB - one can have numerous backups. Then at any time - you can restore your system to whatever state you want it to be restored to. But you should probably make a text log describing the state the system for each backup to that you can make the appropriate decision of which backup you want to restore.
well...i have a usb passport and when i go to the backup and restore, the 'backup now' will not be able to click but I have inserted the usb passport..
I have 3 questions... 1. If I will upgrade my computer from windows 7 starter to windows 7 ultimate, can I do this to make a backup of my files?(I already purchased windows 7 ultimate and my cousin will install it but he has no idea on how to do a backup) 2. Can I save this In a hard disk other than external hard drive?(I have 2 hard disks drive C: and drive D:) 3. I have done a backup and it was saved on drive D: and my question is: Why is the size of the backup 0 bytes? Pls. answer! tnx
You can create new folder. But you should back up your data in external location. If sth happens to your computer you still have physical backup outside your PC.
+pastelvids if you want to lose those why just delete them?? and if your asking if you will lose them if you run backup...well no...Backup means to keep your photo's and video's with you.
Hi , i have windows 10 , i want to backup to windows 7 because i've had enough whit windows 10! Well i searched for backup and it says "Backup and restore Windows 7" i hadn't windows 7 before ! but a friend of my dad attempted to install it (but didn't worked) so if i press "Backup and restore windows7" do i get to windows 7 (anyways whit loading screen and others) whitout doing any configurations?
OH YES!! I lost my hard drive due to accident and all my data lost. 10 years of work, photos, videos, data, everything! I backed them up at 2 places, one is backed up regularly in my another Drive E. Another one is in my external hard disk. But my external HDD was last manually backed up 1 year ago. So it's outdated data. It's not frequently backed up because I was stupid enough to think that one backup in internal drive is enough. Then one day I upgraded my computer by adding new Drive C. Too bad all my datas from old Drive C+partition D and Drive E were all lost! I still remained calm cause I still have some outdated data from external disk to work from. ......UNFORTUNATELY, due to lack of sleep trying to recover my lost data for 2 days I accidentally deleted my backup folders!! It was too big for recycle bin so I lost them all. That's why "schedule backup" like daily or every week is vital. Not only important but VITAL. And you need to have 2 backups, both should be in remote location, external disk or USB, not in another drive of one computer. Because if sth bad happened to your PC you still have physical backup outside your PC. And 2nd one in your office. Because if your home computer meets accidental misfortune, like flood or fire or stolen. You still have your important backup kept at your office. The 2nd can be stored in network/cloud storage, like One drive, icloud or google. But it happened to me that I was not in internet access location at time but I need my data NOW. So cloud storage should be 3rd backup.
