Why do you mean by “terrible time”? I used this on bare metal without problems, aside from the ones mentioned by the creator of the mod?

i used this on my pc as an main os for several weeks and it was okay, only thing is that i need to win+R ms-settings:keyboard to add an keyboard locale

Works great on my RTX 4080 laptop. Only downside is Xbox app won't install because the os is not up-to-date. So no Forza Horizon 5 for me

Did you have any driver issues? I can't even install drivers "Unable to install cab files", I wish I could use this as a main os

@@pitier33127 I had tried to install them from the installer directly taken from my pc's website, but it ended up installing with sdi so everything's good

It's just windows 10 with an XP theme so you'd use anything with windows 10

Windows 11, after proper optimization and configuration, is not a bad operating system. I even dare to say that in many respects it is better than its predecessor. However, this Windows 10 mod in the style of Windows XP is very impressive - you can see that the author put a lot of work into it. This system will be especially useful for people who are sentimental about Windows XP and for those who would like to prank someone by saying that they have Windows XP installed on their current hardware.

I am still using Windows 10 and Linux Mint Cinnamon might be my future if Microsoft keeps the TPM2.0 mandate issued by the NSA we don't need the government controlling our computers.

You are right that some features are not necessary or are downright unpleasant, but this can also be bypassed - for example, by creating a system installer on a pendrive using Rufus. I have fully compatible hardware with Windows 11, but I still create an installation pendrive using this application so as not to activate these unwanted functions.

Don't. Either get Experience R2 or nothing at all. This is incredibly broken now due to Windows Defender forcing updates or triggering itself to delete programs from the installation, and has been known to destroy entire systems without using virtual machines. (This installation almost exclusively runs on VM drivers, so attempting this on a real machine may permanently destroy it.)

I absolutely agree, never install modded copies of OSes on actual hardware. That's one reason why I do it, is so nobody else has to. Most of these OSes are built in VMs, and are completely untested for real hardware like this

@@aaz1992 Well, although there is a chance it could work, there's a higher chance the following could happen: You install it with a semi-faulty USB that corrupts the files of the installation, Windows Defender activates and deletes the files installed (many trip the false positive alarm), your computer cannot handle VM drivers, rendering both the OS and, assuming you don't have a backup, your computer useless, Windhawk kills itself and screams at you to change your settings (this one happened to me, results in either a bootloop, failed boot, or unusable desktop), or the most luck-based option, Windows detects modified installation files before it even begins installing, either giving you an error, continuing with corrupted files, or OUTRIGHT DELETES ITSELF. That being said, these aren't too likely, but one of these are more likely to happen than a clean installation. (I know from eXPerience)

@masonsmith6199 i see. It installed fine for me on a generic 8gb usb drive. Been 4 days stable. But the annoying activate windows watermark appears after about 2-3 hours of on time. Restart makes it go away for a while. Not sure how to get rid of it for good

It's pretty much a modified/reskinned build of Windows 10, so I'm sure it supports it.
