Starting in Windows 8, you can’t easily go to Safe Mode by spamming F8 key, the only way to do that is you have 2 methods: Method 1: Windows + R and type “msconfig”, go to Boot tab and check Safe boot, with 4 options: - Minimal: Regular Safe Mode - Network: Networking Support - Active Directory Repair: enables ADR mode - Command: runs CMD Method 2: go to the Recovery page and go to Troubleshoot > Advanced Settings > Startup Options

interesting that windows in win11 don't have rounded corners in safe mode

It’s. Wierd how everything up into 8.1 didn’t look like it was related to that version while everything after 8.1 looked like a normal system minus the wallpaper

on Win95 it felt like a completely normal system, while later it became to be noticeable that its safe mode

Music is fitting, especially when no audio, networking, themes and black screen instead of wallpaper

In windows 7 I updated windows 7 boot now it wont show winlogon.exe and mouse (Screen display problem)

I accidentally installed an incorrect Wi-Fi driver on my PC that made it not boot up anymore. I had to use safe mode, go to device manager and uninstall that driver. That saved my PC and my whole life.

To be fair, Windows 98 no longer seems to be inattractive. I kind of like the old versions. Namely Windows XP, which in my opinion is still the best version of Windows ever. But since the activation of Windows XP happens over the Internet, it's not quite suitable for testing purposes and definitely not suitable for a virtual machine. You have to buy a separate licence for virtual machine if you want to use it legally, and even then it's not guaranteed that it will work indefinitely, because sometimes you need to reinstall software when it misbehaves, and that might change the virtual device fingerprint, which will in turn render the previously owned OEM licence no longer valid, so you might want to buy another one. Windows 98 is therefore much more pleasing for me, because its activation happens only locally, not over the Internet, and it's even possible to use a generic secret activation key that simply works. So I don't need to buy a new licence each time I reinstall VMware for troubleshooting. Why do I have Windows 98? Well, for one I like the bundled games - how they look, how they play (especially Solitaire games are not bundled with microtransactions and advertisements, which is nice), and I sometimes like to use an older software that only runs on older systems and doesn't work on modern versions of Windows anymore. Plus as a developer, I am exploring retro stuff and I'd like some of my stuff also work on older versions. That means Windows 98 is a primary target system for these projects, and of course their primary testing environment. I also have pure MS-DOS virtual machine as well, which allows me to play old games from my childhood as well as exploring retro stuff for this old system. I might even install some network drivers to MS-DOS in order to test some things out, and explore networking in applications development under this old system, and how one could implement networking in ASM using the network drivers.

Everythings great BUT when you showed windows 11 I don't think its the original one. Because the original one has rounded edges for windows and tabs.

In Windows 11 Microsoft disables everything but the core OS and it's functions but it has Edge enabled because that's clearly apart of the Core OS

I know windows 10 safe mode becouse my cousin installed a virus, Not even the antivirus detected it and I found it when I saw like 100 notepad files that said: throw away your computer. I'm not stupid enough to throw away a computer with a rtx 2060 and an intel core i5 7400k. The point is that when I got a popup with written: do you want to delete the system? I put no and he replied with: I will do it anyway (: I managed to find the virus with avast in time and having the premium version immediately tried to delete the virus, unfortunately the virus shut down the system, but after that I came up with an idea: overclocked the processor too much in the BIOS and so after a couple of steps I managed to get into safe mode with a command prompt, many files were missing but the main system ones were left untouched, With 2 usb sticks I managed to recover most of my personal files and reinstall windows On my desktop

Windows 11 doesn't have rounded corners because windows in safe mode doesn't load 3rd party drivers, and that includes GPU driver. Without GPU driver or hardware acceleration, it's gonna use 90 degree sharp corners. And with a GPU without WDDM or hardware acceleration, you won't get rounded corners
