I finally pulled the trigger on tinting the windshield on my 2018 WRX. WARNING: this mod is very illegal in some states. luckily for me, I have a tint exemption, so I went for it. 35% tint looks great, blacks out the car from most angles, and still lets you retain your visibility. And to think I wanted 20%.... maybe I still do... Who knows...

I visited the Philippines last year for a month and it's so normal to see windshields totally blacked out. It's so hot and sunny there so it's not illegal.

Here in the United States it's starting to become more normal. As long as you don't have 5 percent on the windshield. Dealerships are tinting brand new car with windshields too before selling them off.

I have %20 all around on bare glass and %40 percent on the windshield. It's dark enough and you get full coverage. Hope I don't run into any trouble with the law.

Once the windshield got the %40 it made all other windows appear darker, so %20 all around would be my limit only to avoid issues with the law. You may see fine out too at night

lol same I had 5% ceramic all around and 35% ceramic windshield and it was amazing while it lasted (2 months). I haven’t tinted my windshield since because apparently all the water can damage the CPU of my car, so really I can only tint the windshield with the glass off the vehicle. And my current windshield is cracked, so no point in tinting a cracked windshield 😔

Dope vid. I can't see anything except headlights with 5% at night. I was thinking 35% full ceramic all around including windshield on a sedan might be good for sun protection but less for privacy for someone with bad night vision. Also, an LED low beam upgrade helps a lot. Did you do carbon or ceramic tint?

the cops in NYC still give you shit with the tint even if you have an exemption. They'll pull your ass over and find any reason to write you a ticket. I love the ride, I have a subie myself but I'm in florida so we need the tint cause it's way too hot down here.

Damn you cant see shit lol, I have 5% on my back windshield, 15% on all my other windows and dont have my front windshield tinted at all. I cant see out of %5 so I'll probably get atleast 40% on my front windshield, I want 35% but I'm scared I may not be able to see and I'm getting a medical waiver to get a tint exemption

In St Louis 5% won't get u pulled over in the city ( ON THE SIDES ).. but 35 is crazy on the windsheild.. BUT THIS IS A GOOD INFORMATIONAL VIDEO If possible I'll get 75 or 80..👍

Can you see at night?? I’m talking a dark backroad with no streetlights. I feel like you can’t see the sides of the road and if something is standing off to the side. Is this true??? My tinter said it’s like driving at night with your headlights on

Car Pro I had 30 % on the windshield for a while. Very dark on the backroads but great during the day. I would say 40-50 is good for me

Tom B did you have LED headlights/ bulbs? My headlights are okish as its just LED bulbs. 35 seems perfect for me but as you said 50 is better for backroads. I never drive on backroads but just in case.

I got 2016 Infiniti QX60. I got ceramic plus 5% on top of factory on the back. Waiting on the permit to come in. Ima do ceramic plus 15% on the driver and passenger side. Ima do 5 brow. I had 45% on the windshield before could see fine. Contemplating between 30 and 35% for the windshield. How's the nighttime, rain, snow and bad weather? What you recommend?

Original Champ yeah I did haha. Had the front windshield tinted at 35% for a year with 15% all around. I think 35% is like the best for the windshield, any lower than that you will be in big trouble. As in it’s going to be obvious that the front is tinted. I drove by cops and state troopers. Thinking of doing 5% all around and 35% on the front

Original Champ if this makes you feel better. I asked my tint installer what % would be the best for the windshield and he said 35%, don’t go lower. My installer can’t tint the windshield because it’s illegal lol but he recommended me another place that does it. Pretty nice of him because he’s a car enthusiast haha. Depends on your area too, like I live in Oklahoma and I drive between OK and Texas. Go for ceramic tint btw, very good heat reduction, either 3M Or Llumar.

the headlights are OEM ones baked open, spray painted black, retrofitted with DiodeDynamics switchback c light, and a full AUXBEAM LED set (low beams, high beams, and fog

I think 50% is nice for a windshield, I like being able to see clear as day more than I like looking cool tbh. I actually have an 80% ceramic on my windshield with 20% on the fronts and it's perfect for my daily driver

@@Melroni depends where you live. Where I live alot of people don't have any tint, and windshield tint is super rare. If people do have tint it's 20% on the front and nothing on the windshield, 5% is almost non existent

It's a gamble.Sometimes you go months even YEARS with no stops, then you get stopped like 2 or 3 times. in a week!! Always keep yours eyes open and head on a swivel.Be prepared to open all your windows if you see cops posted up somewhere.Also get LEDs for interior courtesy lights
