Those tell tale signs of an inoperable pump include: missing hose lines, broken fittings and even the electrical unplugged. Good thing i have zero imtrest in concourse or moderate restoration. I'm a restomod guy. A modern washer tank from a modern vehicle with greater capacity amd built in pump is heavenly !

I think he installed the parts 90 degrees from the original orientation.

My 73 & 90 Buicks have same wiper washer assembly. Both do not work correctly. The fluid pump does not shut off & no delay wiper. What is wrong? I know every thing works. I added another ground to wiper assembly. Still not working. I saw that a relay is in the wiring? WHERE? I had a problem with power windows too. Up under dash drivers side. I see what looks like a relay. Only way to get windows to roll up & down consistently. Ran a new fused wire from fuse box to main switches on drivers door. I am too old to hang out under dashboard changing fuses every time I start out

Many GM owners have run into the never ending washer pump problem. Typically it's one of two things. 1. A bad ground. 2. bad cam in pump. The windshield wiper assembly has several gears in the wiper transmission. One of the cams that run off these gears allow the wipers to cycle 3 or 4 times after the washer switch is pressed. If the cam is stuck (dirt or old grease) the washer pump just keeps running or the cam is broken. Either disassemble clean, inspect and lubricate the wiper gear assembly or replace the pump. 3. The 1990 Buick also has a washer pump relay that may need service In the 1990 there are probably several relays under the dash for everything from heater controls to window relays, it's best to consult a factory service manual before making changes.

@@ClassicCarRestorationClub I have replaced the pump on my 1973 & 1990 Buick's. Still have the problem. I currently have dash torn open for inspection on 73 Riviera. Found a possible problem with ground. I saw in repair manual that the ground is some how connected to radio? I installed a working aftermarket radio. Maybe be the source of my wiper pump working all the time washers are on. But? I drove since last winter with the new pump & everything worked as it should. During Pandemic lock down my Head light switch started blinking low beam lights. I have had multiple problems with Windows & door locks. I am going out to try grounding each item by self to a common ground. See what happens. Still trying to figure out why the front end clunks when stopping. Replaced sway bar bushings I bolts. Still there. I asked 2 repair facilities to look at my cars. Not one will work on them. Mechanics are not trained on old cars??

Hi Todd, I am not certain what year/make/model your car is but often Blinking lights are a sign of a weak circuit breaker. when it's on the circuit breaker heats up then shuts off, once cooled it turns on again... this can happen over a few minutes or seconds or in just fractions of a second. Sometimes it can take awhile to find a good mechanic that is familiar with classic cars, you might want to try a restoration shop in your area.
