Saw Spotty absolutely ripping on the LT at Corro numerous times in strong winds. Great work Paul getting the footage. Can’t wait to see more. He’s a machine - was too much for me most days there
I smoked every bit of kit there is yesterday. Out on my RSone 3m long 210ltr doing 22kts while every one else stayed home. Tried flare gybe for the first time after 10mins studying videos. Got ‘em! Yeeew! It’s like being strapped to a race tuned mac truck going downhill. Nothing is stopping it once it goes. And it goes easily.
My former "winter spot" was a sailing club in Istanbul, where the winds were always offshore, and thus shifty towards the harbor, and quite strong a km out. So in the winter, I would pack my usual quiver away in favor of a Starboard Phantom 295, which like the LT is a deceptively fast machine: we´re talking 25 knots plus when the conditions are right. So never underestimate a long board when you see one. In the right hands its quite effective.
Ouch! So much for 40 years of board- and sail-development. Amazing how the brands still claim that they have made massive improvements to the performance of their gear every 2nd year or so... Don't believe the hype.
i am not a windsurfer, so what is here the point? just from physics the main differentiator is simply the qm size of the sail, than the weight of the dude, and than may be the board (size, weight, design), isnt it?
