A walk from Braithwaite up to Outerside via Barrow-door in the Coledale-horseshoe.......whilst on the summit in freezing wind(late June) a mountain rescue helicopter came across and headed to Crag-hill.......only had my Canon 70D to hand at the time so got some pics, by the time I got my action-cam out it was out of range.

Stunning views for such a modest Fell Stu! At least the wind meant no midges! Lol! Enjoyed the time-lapse and photographs👍👍

Felt very windy on the tops, we try and avoid those conditions. Not surprised the rescue chopper was called out. Great path though and great photos, you got rewarded for sticking with the conditions, regards, Ashley

The forecast was good, but it got extremely cold and windy when we got to the foot of Outerside so I found a sheltered spot for the Mrs and went up on my own. It got so windy on the summit that my coat was vertical above my head and the zip hit me in the face causing quite a cut........even late June with a favourable forecast you can get caught out..........cheers Ashley.......ATB....Stu/Wendy.👍👍

Definitely want to tackle a horseshoe or two this year, would you recommend this one to start with? What a cracking day you had, those views are absolutely epic. Making me excited for my return to nature tomorrow. Great shots over to Derwent Water. Ah descent nose? So its not just me and the missus that get that! Some cracking photography there Stu, like the shot of the helicopter going over the fells. 👍

With you being in the north-east(like me) its much easier to travel over the A66 to the Keswick area(not sure if you are familiar with Braithwaite) and onto Braithwaite which is only a mile out of Keswick.......from there the Coledale-horseshoe is easily accessed, so yes I would recommend this one......I think its the best Horseshoe in the Lake-district...........thanks for watching/commenting again........ATB...........Stu/Wendy...👍👍

@@stubloggs6358 brilliant advice Stu, this will be my first Lake District horseshoe! Yes we use the A66, it’s definitely the fastest way from our neck of the woods!
