Well I’m one of those “ morons in the comments “ been martial arts training for 40+ yrs and just not come across the guy before and can’t say I was familiar with the catch wrestling link before now.
Eric is a true expert, I have to say this for the Keyboard Warriors in the comments. Eric is the best coach for MMA out there, don't go to videos just to hate, I bet you never been in a street fight, I mean like who is that dumb to start a street fight?.
The guys on autopilot, it comes like breathing to him, u can see it in the way he’s so fluid and sensitive to the way things are going and just rolls with it up to the point where he decides to take control and apply whatever technique he chooses , one of the most relaxed martial artists I’ve come across in years, he’s got the “ playing with children “ mindset dialled and it’s so hard to do that most never completely manage.
I've had wing chun lessons for 2 years and I only learned sil lum Tao and chi Sao but I've always thought wing chun would blend well with wrestling cause the sensitivity developed practicing Chi Sao. My friend is a wrestler in high school when we would do grappling in the dojo he would use that forearm like that he called it L for lunch and it's so effective 💪
when someone is at Eriks level of skill (that is, master of fundamentals) things like these are like 'trick shots'. Tiger Woods can show some pretty innovative creative stuff when he is training and its nice to see something unique you can add to your game. Erik has hours and hours of basic fundamental MMA content, he is a pioneer of the sport and a legendary trainer. There is more than enough of that content available from him if you want to see (his older series CSW Fundamentals are absolute gold) how many more sprawls do you need to see? we all do them everyday
Whenever I spar or fight I always assume a push hands stance with my opponent/training partner 👌🏼 This is legit self defense! Thank you for educating the masses appropriately. Many lives will be saved!
You put fore arm across collar bone to control distance, you can put hand on back of neck to push head down to ground. Many techniques from other martial can be applied if you have an open mind. I use framing and cycling tech from Kali all day just to pass guard🤣.
Maybe, but this guy is legit. This is Erik Paulson, coach of Josh Barnett. He's a 6th degree Brazilian Jiu-jitsu blackbelt under Rigan Machado and former World Light-Heavyweight Shooto Champion. I'd be interested to see if he could make something like this work full-speed.
@@slavicanthropology i just think this gives a bad impression of grappling to people online. I've been practicing mixed martial arts for a few years and have seen experienced guys teach ineffective techniques, whether it be intentional or not.
