one of the better filming of a routine. I see the full body following the rotation of the performer slowly and not snapping to different angles. Very nice and entertaining to watch thx
Interesting the difference of 'Ip Man' Wing chun 詠春 n that of this form 咏春or indeed the others 'Wing永'. I wonder if there is ever a proper research into how and when they diverged or indeed the true origination of the whole art. They are all very similar in nature and it is a question of their emphasis. Thank you for this demonstration!
This is the same form Grandmaster Ip man learned. When He taught Wing Chun in Foshan. He changed it, especially in the first part. He believed students need to learn whatever he changed cause they would greatly benefit from it. Ip man was known to be an amazing teach. He did not teach in a cookie cutter fashion. He approached ever student differently, that is why he is legendary. But take this with a grain of salt. I never spoke to the man. I just read what his students wrote.
@@jerimiahsmedley3722 😁thx u.👍 Indeed kungfu is what we say 'alive', it evolves around the practitioner's physique n character. That's why so many different forms even within WingChun itself. I hv met n sparred with a few of his old disciples in my hay days as my grandmaster was骆耀 (Loc Yiu) as I hanged out at his a lot n they all hv their own signatures 😁. Their skills I hv yet to come across with modern sifus. Very different league indeed. I was just curious how the style branched off btwn GZ n HK as the common story of 'Yim Wing Chun' is a folklore. There is a more plausible version. The art is a hybrid of 'ba gui' n was taught to the bodyguards of the Emperor of Ming Dynasty. These body guards when fleeing from Ching Dynasty purge hid in a place called 'wing chun' in Fujian (it exists) awaiting the day to overthrow that dynasty n return to Ming. Of course that never happened n on being dicovered, they split up into 3 parties. 1 being disguised as Circus Act n came South to Guangzhou, 1 went by boat n ended in Malaysia n another landed in Thailand. Each carried a copy of the art n supposedly the 3 together makes a whole. Unfortunately the one in Thailand was lost in a flood. The 1 in Malaysia last I heard kept in some obsure village n the Southern copy supposedly locked in a cupboard in Wing Chun Association. U can verify that Yip Man gramdmaster did indeed worked in a Circus, as a movie was made about his sifu. 😀 All still need piecing together of course but I am just curious if Yip Man ever taught all but as u say only 'his version'? 🤔Happy practising 😁🙏.
I think if you are interested in the art, you need to start from the beginning and learn the forms, the basic 'Xiao nian tou' 小念头 ( The little memory guide) From there, you will come to understand some of the moves. The wooden dummy is usually taught at the end of having achieved ALL 3 forms and sparing. Here you are at the deep end.
