As much as i know when emin hit w.chang he was controlled by kernspecht.He was the main responsible and emin was just a soldier.Kernpecht would never risk loose.So he sent emin.If emin has lost he would say emin was just a student,if he won he would sy that his w.t. was better.Maybe i am wrong but this is classical strategy of "grand" masters.

I feel duped by the traditional arts I studied for so long. BJJ/MT/Boxing/Wrestling - made me an athlete in a couple of months and made me such a better martial artist. I think some of us want others to experience this???

As Tangkapan says it's not what you trained thats going to automaticly make you win. If you don't have the mindset you will loose. I trained with Emin once, he takes up the room. ( Not just cause you know about him, but you can feel that he has the "IT". To make him a great fighter ), If you want to compare arts, sports or styles, wich is better... Train them all and make it your own way of fighting. kajukenbo trains you for multiple attackers, but it's only you who can defeat them.

@ThisSentenceIsFalse Thank you for your thoughtful and intelligent dialogue. I agree with your point about irrelevant comments BUT I think one of the points you failed to address is how Emin's red T-Shirt and black trousers are representative of the 'Le Rouge et le Noir' (The Red and the Black) novel by Stendhal. I would like to see him recite this classic story whilst doing Chi Sau, until then I cannot accept him as a true Sifu of Wing Chun. I know you will agree with my analysis.

I agree. I used to love getting into flame wars over which martial art is better. Then I matured and realized, who gives a shit. Do what you want b/c you enjoy it. Let me use a car analogy. Toyotas and Hondas are more or less the best cars you can buy. Yet you still see plenty of people buying Pontiacs, Dodge, etc... Why wouldn't they just buy the best. It's the same price more or less. It's b/c most people don't care. They like to have choices and pick what attracts them.

Kicking to the kidney with the heel. 18. Spiking an opponent to the canvas on his head or neck. 19. Throwing an opponent out of the ring or fenced area. 20. @makkho Do you train and compete in "mma" cage fighting? If you do,then you have to spend a lot of time working out,the cage is for professional athletes.If you have a daughter,and your worried about her safety and you had just a small amount of time to train her what would you do? WC is great for this type of situation,you can expect results that work in a small time frame,and no need to train like a professional athlete,most ppl don't have that time

@kommisar dirty techniques in bare knuckle fighting: forearm strikes, grabbing and striking, eye gouges, striking the back of the head, & spine, hammer fists, backfists, kicks to the knees and groin, stomping the feet. it's all right there.

@777ELDEMONIO well u see after chain punch there is an elbow follow up in wing chun but if u are leaning back and trying an elbow jab or a cross it is a mistake in my opinion.Switching to muay thai techs u mentioned before after a chain punch means giving up the base stance + follow up stance in wing chun. Also there is something like an inside low thai kick in my wc system (IKWTS) but going out with a normal thai kick is strictly forbidden. I respect the opinion tho..

@makkho What kind of cage do you fight in? Thats the question,I like to watch cage fighters,I respect their dedication.But,I fight in a different cage,a cage where anything can and will happen and the only rule is do or die.I remember watching UFC1 and thinking that many ppl left ground training out because they trained for stand up for a reason,in the real world,the ground fight is a transition phase to get up.To see where I'm coming from,read Ken Goods article,"Which Cage do you Fight in?"

People make mistakes, and you're not an exception. Cheung had it coming bc he was saying his Wing Chun style was superior/secret/taught by yip man and that everything else was "watered down"/modified (which the reality is probably opposite). Cheung also said he'd take on anyone who questioned it. 300 bare knuckle fights? I dont know about 300 but he probably got into alot in germany bc he was being bullied when he grew up. & when ufc came out there were alot of skeptics and haters.

mahartma. Eye gouges, neck stirkes, scratching etc are all deadly moves i agree. Very crucial for self defence. But u have to realise its not wise to totally rely on those moves. I mean, i can try to gouge a decent pro fighters eyes and neck but im pretty sure i wouldnt even get that close to him since he would be throwin lethal punches and kicks.

@SimulacronX That is a second truth.Most sifu when they fight real they become stief and so their art doenst work.But chi sao is for sure the state of the art.It is the moment of 0,009 of sec that u need chi sao by touching the enemy and only that moment.Then u need all the others.(footstep.chain punches...)If u want to test the sifu he should ask u to make whatever attack u like.That told me mine when i first went at shool and he hit me with respect just to see.

-If he is taller than you and/or has longer legs than you, he will be able to kick farther than you can kick without any travel. A longer stick can reach farther than a shorter stick. Simple physics. -The readiness of the wing chun stance that Emin takes is questionable because you can see that he also "steps" out of his stance before countering the "attack", which he saw coming, and was inappropriate for that range anyway.

@SimulacronX In some points i agree.It is truth that too much time is spended in tsi sao.Normal that time sould be the 1/3 of the time,but many times a week if possible.It is not a train that need hours but time.U actually reprogramm your human body behavior and unfortunately that doesnt happen soon.That is why many people have wrong opinion and their sifus should tell the truth.Also there are few of practikers that can use shi sao in real fight.

Joe Rogan says that but Machida says differently and Machida is proving his point. I dont have anything against mma but ppl are mistaken. Besides the early UFC was good because it showed the necessity for groundfighting (which no 1 knew) but if you look at the rules and reg's of the game, it favors Sport oriented arts such as MThai, Wrestling, and BJJ. Most arts favor dirty fighting, so it would be watered down in the ring. Do you think Muay Boran would work well in the UFC? Probably not.

@konerath You got to love this emin. His supporters say he teaches real street fightin, not ring fighting. I don't think that he would ever be able to 'jam' a leg kick in his entire life of trying from now till he died. It's a totally different thing to tell a guy to kick at your knee with a lame front kick, and then the MOMENT you see him move, move toward him. Than to actually sit there trying not to be taken down, Punched in the face or body, or Kicked in the head body or leg, and when he ...Message continued on another reply.

A lot of commentators seem to miss the point of this clip. They go off on some other irrelevant tangent or dismiss the thing completely without addressing the details of what has been said...or like me, waste one's time criticizing the quality of criticism knowing full well that this is RU-vid and not conducive to relevant, point by point criticism. As for me, the magnetic zone concept, preparation and circle step entry, range analysis, and wedge pressure ideas have been pretty useful.

@makkho I'm aware what Emin built his whole image on,very close to what the Gracies did.In real life situations,egos fly out the door,including his with yours.I've been down on the ground in a life and death situation,more damage was done to me from my attacker's girlfriend with her high heel shoe than he did,that was just 1 case.There's NO such thing as a "normal self defense situation",flush your head gear out son,this is not about tap outs,this is about survival,a mindset you lack

@Tangkapan Sorry to answer to such an old post. Anyway, you don't know what you are talking about. I've done sparring with Boztepe years ago and know how talented, quick and powerful he is. But his Wing Chun technique is very poor, the reason being his ego is so big that he stopped training with a master a long time ago. And about him never being defeated...any witnesses of his 300 plus fights? Has he beaten up any famous fighter (please don't mention that joke called William Cheung)?
@bordereye
@bordereye 13 лет назад
@GonG108 When I was in EWTO everybody knew that Salih Avci was better than Emin at ground fighting (Emin is quite poor, must be said). They both are very talented athletes, shame their technique is bad. There are so many good masters around the world, they could have learned a lot from different Wing Chun families. As I said in another post , they have too big an ego and not enough love for Wing Chun.

MMA/UFC fighters DO train a certain skill set. They're elite level athletes who are competing with other elite level athletes. Hence, they only train the fundamentals of the sport: kickboxing and submission wrestling (both of which are individual sports themselves). Y do u think unorthodox fighters have or had such an advantage overs other ufc fighters? (liddel: kempo, machida: shotokan, etc) Because traditional fighters break the mold. It's about quality of execution not quantity or style.

I know all the UFC rules I love the UFC, or just any mma, but none of the rules prevent you from 'jamming' a kick and then capitalizing. I don't think it's hard, I think it can't be done. What he's doing here is Completely different, Someone could just superman punch him in the head. Super man punch being a Kick, that is suddenly changed into a Face punch. -An example of how fast things really are, You can't Blink when a pitcher throws a ball, or else you'll actually miss the ball.

Machida's style is Shotokan, Sumo, and BJJ. Everything else he learned in order to know how to defeat it (and he's been successful). I'm not saying any ufc styles are ineffective. In fact, all logic based styles are effective when performed properly (speed power timing accuracy precision etc.)
