How big Jimmy would have been. The guy was magical, he really was. This was, by far, the finest line-up of Wings / Macca & his band, by a country mile. Sleep well Jimmy lad. 50 years on, we're still talking about you ❤
@@user-sn5cq3ey4q Yup, Geoff Britton apparently was picked on by Jimmy McCulloch and he got fed up and left. Britton appears on one or two tracks of the Venus & Mars album (at least on Listen To What The Man Said).
When I first heard this my 8-track was popped in the player of my 1973 Comet GT. I was rocking out with my best girl. Now I am the old man that asks "Why is it more?" Getting old sucks but You Tube and a few Guinness = Screw it I'm gonna sing 1970's songs on the deck with the computer volume cranked as high as it will go. My wife does the same with Carley Simon. I love You Tube!
One of McCartney's most underrated songs - a brilliant piece of power pop and a fantastic burst of a guitar solo between the 1st and 2nd verse. Agree; this is the best live version I've seen.
Yes, Paul did a great Ending, like in the Mess ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-om5xcVhR1c8.html of the same period. And Back Seat of my Car. A crescendo descending to a dead halt.Slam dunk!
ROAD To The Top George was never a very good soloist. He even invited his friend Eric Clapton to record "while my guitar gently weeps" solo guitar because he had more talent. John's talent was songwriting.
ROAD To The Top songwriter as well. And he plays all instruments (as we see in videos like " fine line" and " coming up"). George, John and Paul were not great as live performers, they would write songs, many of them would become hits after covered by another artist, like Joe Cocker singing "With a little help from my friends", or "Dear Prudence" by Siouxsie and the Banshees. Thats what they knew how to do best. No Jimi Hendrix solos, no Keith Moon crazy drumming, no Beach Boys harmonies, etc
Incredible tune man. Loved it since the first day I heard it on the radio on the school bus. Started my drum career. Infectious jam right here. Impeccable I say. Blessings to all that read this. 😊🙏🏻💙
Great song. Its frustrating that Paul doesn't get more recognition as one of music's most notable bass players. Granted, the score here is fairly basic, but the drive in the bass is Paul's talent punching through. The earlier Beatles works wouldn't sound the same without Paul 's bass walking all over the fret board. Refreshing to hear this song again after many years....
+Andrew Clark ???? I gave you a thumbs up on this because I agree with your points after your first sentence, but McCartney influenced THOUSANDS of bass players, myself included. He's #1 on the list and probably the best guy to learn bass from.
Nobody was playing bass like McCartney in the 60's. The bass player in bands back then were primarily 3 note thumper's standing in the background. Paul is the melody master and probably was a good string player a half hour after he first picked up a guitar....
The general public need to categorize. So, McCartney can't possibly be recognized as a great bassist since he's recognized as a great songwriter and singer. The public can't handle in their minds that he is one of the most influential and gifted bassists ever, as well as being pretty good on any number of instruments.
Thank you so much for being such an amazing fan of my music my Dear🙏🤠. Your nice comment got me attracted. Well I hope you never stop being a fan and also stop listening to my songs🎶. Could you kindly tell me how long you've been a fan my music???
Wings recorded "Juniors Farm" in Nashville TN in 1974 during their six week visit here. Check out the Facebook page Wings Over Lebanon TN 1974, for photo's and stories.
I loved this song when I first heard it. The guitar part, especially the lead had me going right away. Still love listening to it. Jimmy kicked ass. Wish he was still here.
I loved all the Wings lineups but this is my favorite. Jimmy was awesome and I also loved Geoff Britton's drumming. I know most people seem to prefer Joe English but I really like Geoff's aggressive style.
this had to be very shortly b4 english joined wings...britton was solid but english was by far more aggresive and had way more chops i.m.o. regardless, both were fine drummers who sounded good with the band
What a great rockin song from one of the best songwriters, musicians, singers and performers to ever come along...thanks for posting this...amazing paul and friends and wife that made up Wings..so cool
Paul's work rate did not slow in the 70s...consider 73-76...red rose speedway (album) , band on the run(album) , this single, Venus and mars(album) , speed of sound (album).....oh yeah and he went on a world tour.....this guy man.....incredible
I agree with you. Also liked Helen Wheels which was a bit similar in some ways. Country Dreamer, Listen To What The Man Said, well, the list could go on.
Come on ya'll. Strait up rock and roll. thank you so much wings 4 this music this type of rock and Roll will stand the test of time. Once again thank y'all so much

This is the best version of Junior's Farm. This version just had way more of an edge to it. I'll never know why Paul always opts to go with vanilla versions of songs over the edgier versions

Reminds me of another McCartney song they played around this time (maybe the followup single), the country-ish "Sally G.". That gets even less airplay now than this. I'll have to look it up.
Sally G was the flip side of the Junior's Farm single. Recorded in Nashville. Johnny Gimble on fiddle - he was just inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame last night! (10/22/18)
Thank you so much for being such an amazing fan of my music Dann🙏🤠. Your nice comment got me attracted. Well I hope you never stop being a fan and also stop listening to my songs🎶. Could you kindly tell me how long you've been a fan my music???
@@dennylaine8735 I'm 63 in a week; I started to rock to the Beatles when I was three; I found Wings after The Beatles broke up; I actually remember the moment I/we (my neighbor and I) heard that the Beatles broke up; Matt and I were surveying the damage his step-father had done to the house in a drunken rage, and the news came over the radio; I saw Wings in Seattle in 1976 in the Kingdome (It was the first concert in the Dome.)and then I and the soon to be wife caught McCartney again in Seattle in '90. My oldest brother was a fan of The Moody Blues, and I liked most of whatever he liked back then, so I've been listening since the 60s.
