Thanks a lot for the review of Wings Of Bluestar. It's my first commercial game and I'm doing my best to release regular patches as soon as new bugs are reported by players. Most bugs on the console versions occurred during the port and the transition to the new game engine. Right now and while listening to your review I'm at work fixing the biggest bugs. Cheers!
This is a game I was interested in, but the bugs are holding me back from a purchase. And unfortunately, that means even if it is patched, I will most likely have forgotten about the game by that time. Your next release you should work on making it does not ship with major bugs. I am loving your art style. Best of luck on future releases.
Hey, thanks for watching! If I were you, I'd focus everything on getting the slowdown that occurs when starting a second run fixed. That's the big one. Good luck with the patches, and good luck with any follow-up games. Wings of Bluestar might have been buggy, but I'm still pleased I got a chance to play it.
I was really looking forward to this one (and still am), but it's a shame that right out the gate there are some difficult issues. Definitely keeping it on my radar as fixes would easily elevate this into a purchase. I really appreciate the care and love that went into the design of the game. Great review as well!
I'm pretty sure this game was made by 1 person kind of like crimzon clover but I have been following the developer for the past few years on social media and he seems like a good good dude, I think he's also working a 2d platformer, at least we live in an age where thr game can be easily updated
Same. I had quite high expectations for it because it looked so cool. The Switch port is just a bit too messy at the moment though. Let's hope it gets fixed for the physical release.
This game is a tip of the hat to Blazing Star on NeoGeo. You can see a LOT of references all over the game. Not only are some of the stages a reimagining of the old Blazing Star levels, even the characters and intro are a big homage to the game. There's also a lot of original content thrown in , but the arcade mode is definitely where the game shines. I'd recommend playing the Hamster ports of Blazing Star oven this game, as you get the classic feel, and it's cheaper- and better. As for your review I agree with the summary (Y)
played a bit of this on pc, and while it can sometimes be a bit jank, a lot of these bugs aren't ones I noticed while playing? Seems like the port itself might be the issue. There's def some decisions that are kinda weird either way, but not in a deal breaking way.
Dude I don't know what is up with this game if I would of known I would of not bought it when i die a few times my ship does not appear but the game keeps going
Omg it has a ram memory leak! The worst type of slowdown. I like a little slowdown during bullet hell, slowdown got me into top 20 Deathsmiles scores 😂
