American Anthem is a 1986 American sports drama film directed by Albert Magnoli and starring Mitch Gaylord and Janet Jones. The film was produced by Lorimar Motion Pictures and released in North America by Columbia Pictures.
The soundtrack was released on CD, LP and cassette by Atlantic Records. The album contains songs by various artists, including two themes from the film, composed and conducted by Alan Silvestri.

I took a class in college with Mitch Gaylord .. He used to bum a cigarette 🚬 from me on occasion & was really cool. You would never know he was a Gold 🏅 winner. Very mellow dude.

I love this movie so much. I remember i recorded it off HBO way back in the day and I found it on VHS at a used store. I need to buy it again. Janet Jones is a beauty! I saw her for the first time in Police Academy 5 Assignment Miami Beach 🏖️. Happy 4th 🎇

I wish I still had all the recorded off tv tapes I made as a kid. I'm pretty sure I don't have this in my VHS collection. I will have to double check.

I saw this snoozefest TWICE. First on video, then at the drive-in as the supporting feature to "Dirty Dancing" under its overseas title of "Take It Easy" (the name of ANOTHER Andy Taylor song on the soundtrack). I can't tell you disappointed I was when I got the soundtrack album and none of Silvestri's orchestral music was on it.
