Wow, the Sri Lanka Blue Magpie is such an insaely powerful bird. Imagine you have a great forest engine and can play that bird in the third round, it is like a 20-30 point bomb.
I have a feeling Wingspan Asia meta is going to be heavy on playing birds given the duet board. So there might not be too much concern with round end caching.
I have slightly different feelings for the copy bonus card birds. If my opponent has a bunch of bonus cards, it might be worth the gamble because you might be choosing from let’s say more than 5-6 bonus cards instead of the traditional 2.
trying not to comment on all the cards but MAN! fire-fronted serin has to be one of the worst or most useless teal powers (if not all powers) i've ever seen, it feels like its anti-wingspan strategy...play it early and won't get many eggs, play it late for possibly a negative or low point score and when there's not many rounds left to activate...should've changed the power to birds to the right! i can hardly think of a situation where this works. who thought this card was a good idea??? tailorbird--contiguous doesn't include birds diagonal from each other correct?.....hoopoe--underwhelming for 1v1 players....myna will be a HUGE "game balancer"-all those powerful grasslands you go against copied! thanks for making this video
I get what you’re saying about the Serin, but think about it this way - if you can get it into slot 3 of either habitat at the end of round 1, which isn’t that outrageous an idea, you’re getting a “free turn” each subsequent round because you’re getting sufficient eggs to play 1 or 2 birds. Even getting it down in round 2 would still be pretty good because you might be getting it into a higher slot. After that though…unless it puts you over the top for a bonus card or end of round goal, it’s utility diminishes rapidly.
