Definitely an OP combo! Nice game all round. I'm curious why you didn't even consider the flycatcher at the start, you could've easily had two food in the grasslands alongside the White Stork, and with jeast's raven you don't have to worry so much about throwing food around. Obviously in the end you found your own raven, so the forest hummingbird route definitely worked out better for that. I also think the gallinule could've been a nice snag for you, not just to deny jeast, but for good egg space and another omnivore bird.
Thanks for the comment! Those are some good ideas to consider. It mostly comes down to personal playstyle. With white stork, my thinking was to get it out asap to start digging for birds. Flycatcher + hummer grassland for two foods is very good, but that also means delay to get whitestork out, and the egg spots can fill up quite quickly. Didn't really think about denying the gallinule, since it's quite expensive. But the points and egg spot could have been nice. In hindsight, I don't mind my opponent picking it up, playing it and sharing cards with me. Also, I probably still wouldn't pick it up considering the risk of revealing better card for my opponent.
Sweet game! Man that egret showed up in the end just to tease you! I definitely wouldn't have played the cowbird there (which you ended up regretting too) so inside I was like "NOO". Also I dont think the Bonellis was a missplay at all, because player the other bird would mean you have no more grassland space to play the longspur
This was really fun to watch! So many strong cards. I was going to comment on Cowbird but it looks like you realized it soon after you played it. Kinglet > Goshawk would have pressured the round goal while creating more nest space. The Cowbird restricted your future engine building potential while choking the efficiency of your lay egg action. It could have also been one more point under Bonelli. Luckily, you still had plenty of space for the Cowbird's eggs with how the game panned out so it wasn't really a big loss. All in all very entertaining.
Thanks! I find it interesting that I get instant regret a lot playing the game... I dont know why the difference between a click is so huge for me.. haha
@@tuckNcache Yeah, I think the pressure of making the right play is a lot greater for people like us who are putting our games out there for public criticism.
