More importantly, I will be live streaming later today over on Twitch at my usual time - 7pm UK time/2pm Eastern US. Would be great to see lots of you there! You can find me at the link below: www.twitch.tv/winginitwingspan
'Hey this video looks familiar!' Ok you got me, I accidentally uploaded this last night and it went live a little earlier than intended, so I had to take it down and reupload with the proper publishing time 😅 If you were one of the lucky 20 or so notification squad members to catch it before I took it down, thank you and sorry! There will be another video on Friday so you don't have to wait too long 😉
My math could be off, but the prairie manager sequence was 1 more point I think. That sequence got you 13 bird points, 7 bonus points, -3 eggs from playing the birds, then 4 eggs from the redstart (21 pts total). Meanwhile, the wildlife gardener sequence was 15 bird points, 3 bonus points, -3 eggs from playing birds, then 5 eggs from redstart (20 pts total). So in addition to being much safer (guaranteed to work out in terms of food either through overpaying or getting the right food) it was also more points.
They come out as the same points. I think in each scenario you are comparing to a baseline of already having the lower bound of that bonus card, which is 1 fewer point on prairie manager. So that might be where your extra point comes from. Assuming no bonus card to start with, prairie manager route is 13 bird points + 10 bonus points - 3 egg cost + 4 redstart eggs = 24 points. Wildlife Gardener route is 15 bird points + 7 bonus points - 3 egg cost + 5 redstart eggs = 24 points. I maybe could've gone through this all in the video, but it would've taken longer and I probably would've gotten it wrong! When I'm comparing two routes like this, I ignore the common ground and look for the differences. I'll also combine all the bird points, bonus points and egg cost into one. So the only difference here is +1 bonus point on prairie manager vs +1 redstart egg, meaning they come out the same
Knew I was missing something--I was only comparing the points gained from maxing the bonus cards not the points from hitting the first tier. *facepalm*
