@@Tauro_FPS Point measurements are strange. Take a Target Storm point for example. When they say 26mm that would be only the part sticking out of the barrel. But with RD Trident points they measure the entire point. So the 32mm point will have about 5-6mm stuck into the barrel and only 26 or 27mm showing. It's confusing as hell.
I was just wondering have you played the game darts of fury yet on your cell phone it is a very very addicting game those darts look like some from the game 🤘
Winmau and Red Dragon seem to constantly cut corners. Packaging for both lines, every pro gets a special edition that they never throw, etc. All just to pump out quantity.
Grate review..wish thy had the option to get his match weight,,, its disappointing for people who are realy in to ther darts,, still grate lookin dart all the same
Personally I like that they do not have any name or signature on the barrel. Pro player barrels are often really cool and stylish but, for me personally, having names etched on them looks tacky so I think it’s great to have nothing but the Winmau logo. Personal preference.
I bought these and they are my most reliable darts, although I now would prefer a bit more grip on the teardrop. Do you review any Mission darts? I have been throwing the Mission Nero M4 95% lately, different shape than the DP, but the grip gives me a lot more confidence in my wrist action. Still tinkering!
Hey WWD, just checking some of your earlier vids. Well I totally agree with you here. Dennis Priestley is a Legend & should have the appropriate recognition from his dart manufacturers. Why not have a new Range done called , "The Menace" & in weights 15g ,17g , 19g , 21g & 23g which includes Signature Flights & "The Menace" engraved on the back of the barrel, like his old ones. Good vid , as always, oh I had a set of the 21g Priestley's, a lovely dart to throw. 👍👍🎯🎯
Thanks. Yeah, imo Winmau really dropped the ball on all their special edition darts. They all seemed rushed to production and not much thought went into them
I see you throwing great with every set darts you have in your hands... from 12 gr to 48gr... but my question is: how did you decide that 17 or 19 gr is the ideal weight for you? With lighter darts I tend to have pains at my elbow and shoulder... maybe of throwing to hard...?
Lighter darts just seem to work best for me. But also keep in mind that I use tiny flights that zip themselves to the board. If I was to use standard sized flights I'd have to throw harder to get the same results. So next time you try a light dart also try some smaller flights. It makes them VERY easy to throw. Again, this is just my personal experience and everyone varies.
Really poor from Winmau to release a dart like that with no attention to detail. Hardcore collectors might buy them but I agree with you that it’s a bit of a shame.
@@WorldwideDarts Thank you for the speedy reply, I looked up the old video and watched it,found it to be informative. Hope an update review is in the future! Looking forward for that one if it happens.
This was my first Set i bought online. There are some issues with these Darts i'd like to mention: The silver Part of the barell is pretty long, so the centerpoint is behind the thinnest Part (around the third multiring countig from the silver part). You can stick the barrels into each other which causes the dart to drop out of your hand more often during transition from hand to hand. The prism force is the worst stem ever made imo. They only lasted a couple of minutes when i played them. Apart from that, the grip feels very pronounced and i like how they fly into the Board. Thanks for the Review ww cheers!
I record the video in a certain order. So when I throw at the bullseye for the intro it's my first time throwing the darts. I literally dropped the dart while exchanging hands and the stem shattered. This happened in the first minute of playing so if you look close one of the stems doesn't match for the entire video. 2 of the Winmau stems and one Harrows Supergrip stem
Another great review on such a iconic barrel beautiful set of darts I have the original black and red version. Would love a review on the new Scott Baker darts from red dragon very similar barrel shape and dimensions... 🎯💯👍
Some time ago I got some darts that are very similar to these, the Red Dragon Lethal Magic, since they were incredibly cheap at the time. But of course, the red and black of these Dennis Priestley darts do look a whole lot better!
Lethal magic are nearly identical. The only difference is the back end. Red Dragon and Winmau recycle a lot of their darts. Have a look at the Winmau Steve Beaton special edition darts and compare them to the Red Dragon Velociti. Same exact barrels. That goes with what I said in the is video. They got lazy when it comes to making darts. Just slap a new name on it and called it "special edition". They should do better.
Wow, RU-vid 16 years later has really put big names under the magnifying glass with these type of channels. That back cover of the packaging really is a disgrace imo and maybe they think they can get away with it just because it is darts. UK customers should really complain if they had the same problem as you because they might just maybe get some results. Good job.
Nice video been waiting for this one for a while. I have the same set and had the same gripes about them. Dennis is a legend and Winmau could've done better. I too disliked the stems and the red coating came off after just a few throws overall nice dart and I've only managed 1 180 so far with them to date, very different from the originals :) Luckily I have several sets of Dennis signature flights so I just use them ^_^ good darts :)
So I guess the dart is not as detailed as it should because they're kinda cheap for a professional dart player, but that takes away the whole "special edition" part, they feel less special basically, so I agree they should have taken more time to customize them and create more weight versions
I've always like Winmau but I do agree that some of their player 'special edition' series of darts are a big disappointment. They just don't seem to reflect the player or keep in theme with the actual dart the player uses. Just seems they designed a random dart and stuck a players name on it.
The worst part is when they recycle a design and slap a new name on it. Check out the Steve Beaton special edition dart and compare it to the Red Dragon Velociti darts. Same exact barrels
