The fans proper appreciate this work around. The physical duels are what separated you from every other RU-vidr doing these, so it's good to see they're being brought back. Completely agree with the simulator for opening the packs though, they're far too expensive long term.
I am so happy that you guys chose to go through each and every one of your packs instead of choosing the just open all at once option! the fact that you guys are going through the cards and building with the explanation of your build thought processes was something that felt important to this series! this series of going through the gens of the game that I'm familiar with and later will be stuff I'm not acquainted with is what revitalized my enjoyment of yugioh! please continue with this series!
Rampart Blaster's effect This monster cannot be Special Summoned except by Fusion Summon. While this card is in face-up Defense Position, this card can attack your opponent's Life Points directly. In that case, apply half the ATK of this card for damage calculation. I don't think it says anything of attacking anything else in defense
@hotspot1995 "Must be Fusion Summoned. This card can attack directly while in Defense Position. If it does, apply its ATK for damage calculation, and its ATK is halved during damage calculation only."
@@EscobedoCuevasBryan "If "Skyscraper" is on the field and you attack a Defense Position monster with an "Elemental Hero" [sic] that has ATK lower than the ATK of the Defense Position monster, the "Elemental Hero" [sic] gains +1000 ATK even though it was attacking a Defense Position monster."
Yes and it's cool and all but not all the time they nerd to go physical like buying old yugioh packs is a lot now. So I think it's best if they do half amd half
Enemy of Justice finally has the hero cards I've been wanting! But maybe I should pivot to another strategy. What archetype should I try to build around if not Heores?
Crystal Beasts or Dark Heroes may be a good pivot. Dark Heroes obviously would be cool considering you are already playing heroes. But yeah, Heroes are just a little too lackluster and don’t bring much to the table besides average at best fusion monsters.
Here's my suggestion. Digitally open packs. then buy the singles of what you're actually going to use OR dig them out of your bulk boxes. So you dont have to spend a TON of money but you also still play physically. IF that IS what you're already doing uh, cool! yay!
Simulating pack openings is fine. Then just buy singles of cards you get. Could always buy the cheapest copies of the cards you pull. Not sure if that’s what you did or nah.
Goodjob finding a middleground between making money and good content. Really want you guys to be able to do this full-time, so you can give us content full-time :)
Rampart blaster can only attack directly when in defense mode. Doesn't change the outcome of the duel, which was awesome, but its good to note going foward.
Enemy of Justice was also one of the few sets where I actually attended the sneak preview event. I thought the Destiny Heroes were really cool when they were first introduced; I liked how the effects gave one the sense that they were manipulating time itself. I built a deck with the destiny heroes, and even though it couldn't win games I had a blast playing it. Aside from the destiny heroes, I was also surprised at how strong Grand Convergence was; I thought it just did 300 damage, I had no idea it was also a black hole.
Malfunction at least re-Sets the card after negating it so it can't be used again until the next turn. Goblin out of the Frying Pan, however, is just not good. Best-case scenario, you can negate and bounce a set quick-play Spell that they activate on your turn. Mid-case scenario, it's a 500 LP Jar of Greed if you control Bountiful Artemis...?
This was so much fun. Did you have the cards lying around or did you have to assemble the decks after the draws? If the series continues like this, I'm gonna be super happy :D
I apologize for your wallets, but I do absolutely agree that watching you open the actual physical packs and duel with the cards you pull is way more fun! Truly brings out the nostalgia of deck building as a kid!
I appreciate you guys for listening to us fans! Simulated openings are understandable but the physical duels just hit, computer simulation are just trash in my humble opinion
When paul mentioned using alex's cards as drink coasters i had a flashback of time my friend's little sister spilled her kool aid on the duel table. 😢😂
Didn't know it was actually in the dubbed version. My only experience with the line was LK using it as a catchphrase in the abridged series. Now it makes sense why that was his catchphrase.
I wouldn't mind if they proxy their cards too. Since most of the Magic of The Gathering channels, also proxy. Because its just not profitable or makes sense to try to play a game with such a high paywall to pull certain cards.
Amazing, you guys found the perfect solution between making it more affordable but still making your viewers happy. Just shows why you guys are the best yugitubers.
I was suprised by the pulls you got from all the legacy packs. Thanks for the physical expense you guys put into this series. It really brings back the memories of real old school yugioh.
46:47 I think it would be more fair for the winner to choose between taking a card or an extra pack, b/c yeah Yu-Gi-Oh architypes at this point means the likelihood of wanting any card from your opponent's deck is much less but the previous Rare Hunters series that leads into this one is all about taking your opponent's cards so I wouldn't want to take that all away. Basically just having that choice after each win is the most interesting option rather than going for only one for the continuation of this series. Regardless though, this episode was entertaining and I'm glad you guys found a better way to produce this from your experiments from the previous episode. Looking forward to what comes next!
Goblin out of the frying pan is my go-to card when I'm talking about terrible card. So seeing Paul use it to what can arguably called a positive effect is great lol
In duel 2, Artemis should have died the first time when burstinattix attacked it w skyscraper (only game state misplay I saw). Glad to see this series continue
just letting alec know rampart blaster cant atk monster in def mode only directly and if it does its damaged it basically half ie if in def mode you can atk directly for a 1000 damage each turn, but cannot atk your opp monsters while in def just figured i let you know this since you didnt know it :)
I really love this return to form; You guys are awesome for being so open and willing to listen to feedback; There’s nothing quite like a game of in-person Yugioh!
I have to point out: you still get the skyscrapper bonus when you attack defense position monsters(even if they were face-down), so when burstinatrix attacks bountiful artemis it should have gained 1000 points and destroyed the artemis. (Edit:Also Rampart blaster can only attack in defense position if the opponent has no monsters.)
I think there should be an option to choose between taking a card, or opening 3 extra packs of the set they are currently on. So the winner can have a choice, instead of being forced to take a card they may not want/ot taking a card at all.
Goblin out of the frying pan into the fire that’s what they were probably thinking you return a powerful spell card to ya opponents hand omly for them to make things worse for you
I didn’t mind the Master Duel version of the last episode. My friend plays MD on his iPad and I have it on my phone so we can duel “in person” as it were
I was never a fan of yugioh until I was randomly recommended your channel. It got me to download a bunch of the games, and actually get into it. Last video of this series I was sad about watching the digital format and turned it off. The fact you listened to fans and found a happy medium to not break the bank but still be able to play physical cards goes to show why you are the top tier for YugiOh content creation.
Rampart blaster can attack directly from defense with atk halved during the dmg step, it can not attack monsters like a SHS can. Even if it could, it would be with a 1000atk so it would not be enough to get over anything with over 1000 atk/def. Great duels tho, love seeing slackers back, great series!
Skyscraper works even if the monster is face-down since it works during the damage calculation. Also, Alec should probably read Rampart Blaster a bit more closely. Its effect is not at all what they thought it was. xD
I’d rather you not need to spend so much money on cards. Online is better and much cheaper. I love your banter regardless of it being online ❤ I will watch regardless haha
