Similar reason why college cost has sky rocketed as well. Gov backed loans. Its why college is no longer about making you successful. Its why college is filled with useless degrees. They know you don't need to be successful for them to get paid. Its why college commercials are run like vacation ads. They are only looking to fill numbers "Everyone must go" Obama
Tell me about it. Last year a doctor looked in my nose with a lighted camera for exactly 15 seconds, then got some wax out of my ears which took another 30 seconds. These two "procedures" put down as "surgery" on my insurance statement cost over $1000. I had to pay almost $400 of this. Why the HELL would these two "procedures" cost a thousand dollars? If I had known I had to pay that much for this BS, I would have said "don't come near me until you tell me how much this is going to cost." I didn't NEED him to look in my nose or even get out any wax as that wasn't even why I was there. These doctors do this crap cause they know they can charge whatever the hell they want. It's absurd. Everyone could actually afford healthcare if they didn't charge this much for things that I could do myself. I can go to Walgreens and buy a $7 kit to take wax out of my ears. It's ridiculous.
@@bobshanery5152 The federal govt backing student loans is why Obama wanted it included in Obamacare, (fact is one has nothing to do with the other), and 10 years later the student loan debt is upwards of 2 trillion dollars. @@Movies.mosaic-l4d he has so much to attack in her argument that he cant figure out where to start from just like a mosquito in a nudist colony who sees food everywhere but cant figure out which one to bite first
@Scott Wakeling it sounds like you don’t know how to have a conversation like this. You don’t go in hard. When you talk to someone like this it’s always a good idea to start on a Neutral joke so that people are laughing and more open to receive and bounce back ideas. Rather than just going in and watching it deteriorate into an argument.
@Scott Wakeling well it is a neutral joke. He said it’s like a mosquito in a nudist beach. He’s saying he doesn’t know where to start, just like the mosquito. I have to say, the OP didn’t do the best job of explaining that (no offense mate) but the joke itself isn’t hurtful
@Scott Wakeling I've heard D'Souza use this joke in numerous debates, including religion vs. atheism ones. I know what you mean. The response, _"I don't know where to start"_ is often used in debates to invalidate and portray the opposition's question as incoherent and ridiculous. However, I suspect D'Souza just uses it as a breather to think about the question and response.
@Scott Wakeling A valid question with far too many holes in it that each hole serves as a valid argument against the entire topic by itself. Just thinking about taking the opportunity of addressing each hole separately is seemingly a task that would take MINUTES but HOURS IF NOT DAYS. Hence, where should he begin? The easiest, most simple to define hole in the ideology being presented for debate and make it short and sweet OR GO FOR THE GOLD AND SHRED IT IN ITS ENTIRETY.

D’Souza just knows how to get someone to go from angry to questioning their beliefs. I love how he usually explains things with a smiling tone. It shows he truly enjoys bringing forth the truth and reality to folks.
Truth and Facts are a Leftist's greatest enemy since their arguments are illogical and chimerical, and are based on emotion. What I want to know is why do these immature, unknowlegable, student Leftists (and sometimes even their marxist Know-It-All professors) come up to the microphone during the Q & A period to ask their dumb questions after a speech by conservatives such as Dinesh D'Souza or Ben Shapiro when it is a virtual certainty that they will be shredded and humiliated not by the speaker, but by their own ignorance (which is inexcusable) or stupidity (which might have a genetic cause, making it excusable).. Do they really think that THEY will be the first one to win an argument against them?
I know. It's ridiculous how she asserted her opinion on some other issue, without inviting any rebuttal, before asking her "actual" question. I suppose she thought that made her sound smarter, somehow. Until the speaker proved completely otherwise...
I also don't appreciate her position that there is not one government regulation that could be eliminated that wouldn't lead to the municipal water supply turned into industrial sludge causing widespread health catastrophes. If we used that logic, the next government regulation leads to oppressive Totalitarian rule and we're all sent to work at the Gulag on a slow train in a boxcar.
Here’s a little thought experiment: Imagine the government would pay for mandatory injections. How many such injections do you think big pharma and the medical industry would recommend? (Hint: More than two.)
@@userhome3601 The problem with that (one problem for there are many) is incentive. @@Dredfullart Right. His argument totally ignores the fact that health care is not a commodity like cell phones that you can simply do without if prices are too unreasonable. Therefore what recourse would a sick person have if every hospital is overcharging for health care they need? It's not even a final alternative. It should never be considered. Killing a baby is ONLY a possible solution if birthing the baby would absolutely kill the mother AND the baby would have little chance of surviving ex-utero. First answer on abortion suffers from relevance: the question was about the GOP's focus on regulating abortion, while deregulating other critical sectors; NOT about subsidizing abortion. The unintended consequences argument is a red herring: no one is arguing for giving people access to unlimited resources, which would drive inflation catastrophically, they're talking about food stamps and basic income; both of which have been tried extensively in different locations with mostly salutary effects. The guy is a sophist, not a logician
I saw my routine health care at a clinic jump from $20 on the table for a visit to over $400 for a visit under Obama. Dinesh is spot on on everything he talks on!!!!
I seen a woman that used to work at the abortion clinics testify before Congress a few years ago, that planned Parenthood gave birth control pills to people that were so weak that they wouldn't even keep them from getting a pregnant, and they were not telling the women that were getting the birth control that they would not be effective, this way they could keep taking the birth control and get pregnant anyway and in turn get more abortions, and she absolutely proved this she used to work there and she testified before Congress that was what planned Parenthood was doing and, possibly still might be doing, instead of boarding babies people needs to make sure that they're birth control pills are legitimate and full strength like they used to be when you could get them from your doctor!!!!!! Planned Parenthood is all about abortion, they donate millions to the Democratic party every year!!!
I would like an answer to that question also!! I mean, where did that even come from? Never heard about that until very recently! Sounds like another lie that people are continuing to voice as if it were the gospel truth!! It's not true, there is absolutely no shortage of or limited access to contraceptives!! There may be a shortage of men and women choosing to use them, especially when they know that the contraceptives aren't necessary when they have, what they seem to believe, is a better option of having an abortion. With abortions you don't have to think about all the different choices of contraceptives i.e. birth control pills, different kinds of condoms, IUD'S, patches, or of course the old fashioned method of not having sex until your married and/or ready to have children. I know that, that notion is so archaic that most people reading this probably are laughing their heads off right now but if we were to bring God's Word into the conversation, well that just changes everything doesn't it?! Abortion is the taking of the tiniest, most innocent of all God's creations, making it the sin of murder. Yes, murder is sin, and adultery (which is sex with someone other than the husband or the wife) is sin, and fornication (is sex outside of the marriage relationship) is sin. These are not just someone's opinions, these are commandments from Almighty God and no matter how many thousands of years go by, God HAS NOT changed His mind!! SIN IS STILL SIN and as sinners we must stand before a Holy God and confess our guilt, knowing that the wages of our sin is death. But, if we have heard the Gospel, the GOOD NEWS IS that Jesus Christ, the son of God took the sins of ALL mankind, and took the wrath of God, the punishment for all those sins, including death, was nailed to the cross, died and was buried in a borrowed tomb!! Throughout the Word of God his sacrifice was spoken about, as well as His birth was prophesied for thousands of years before he was born or crucified. Good News!!, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, confess your sin, repent (change the direction of your life to follow Jesus and His ways), ask for and receive the forgiveness Jesus bought and paid for with his sacrifice. Jesus dying on the cross isn't the whole story, though! By the power of the Holy Spirit God raised Jesus from the dead and HE is now seated at the right hand of God the Father in Heaven interceding for you and me!! Glory to God!!
@@elainedefoor8599 Of course everybody has access to birth control. When leftists complain about not having rights and access to something, they usually mean that it's not free / paid for by others.

Brilliant explanation! My nephew recently had a bad reaction to a common rotavirus(stomach bug). His dehydration was so severe that he had to go the the emergency care. He was suffering from dehydration so severe that some of his organs started to fail. Kidneys, eyes, etc. A saline IV and anti-nausea medication is the typical treatment for this, but because his case was so severe they performed MRI, and multiple other tests to ensure it wasn’t something more complicated. They kept him for 5 days and after showing my sister a bill for $336,000, the doctor told my sister that he would like to keep him longer for observation, but would understand if she wanted to take him home… In 5 days they racked up a bill higher than the worth of our house, for a darn dehydration due to a common stomach bug (rotavirus). This has gotten out of control, 300k+ for a stomach bug. I don’t want to see the bills for Covid, cancer, or any other treatment. I’ll die alone in the woods.

It does make you wonder how much food prices would drop if that program was discontinued. Before food stamps people used to run soup kitchens to give out food. @@jeanniestaller797 I can appreciate that comment, but I wouldn't say that the nuances of abortion and private healthcare are common sense. It requires people to thoroughly understand the ins and outs of fairly complex subjects and I don't think that's something everyone is or should be entirely versed in. The problem I found with his arguments is that 1) certain rights are in fact subsidized by the government otherwise police wouldn't receive public funding in exchange for your right to liberty and security of person, and that 2) health care is not some commodity that can be regulated by a free market because you don't have the option to abstain. If you think all cell phones are overpriced and you choose to let your feelings be known with your wallet you have the ability to simply not buy a cell phone, and the market will react when enough people do that. If you think all healthcare is overpriced, you don't necessarily have the option to just not purchase health care, therefore there is little leverage or pressure that can be exerted to keep prices reasonable. So while his arguments may sound like common sense, they seem to fall apart fairly quickly under scrutiny. Thank you for your respectful and constructive reply though. You're right, the world needs more level headed and free flowing discussions.
@@seemoney4038 according Thomas Sowell, health care is expensive and there's not much we can do about that fact. He brings out that we have 2 options. Either the government decides what will be covered or not covered, or we get x amount of dollars to decide how best to use those dollars on deciding our own health care. This is where Frank makes sense. I'd rather decide for myself what I want to spend that money on than the government telling me. Insurance companies are just as bad as the government this way.
@@jeanniestaller797 I appreciate your argument of choosing where you want that money spent, but your health dollars are weakened when you privatize health care - which is to say they don't take you as far as they would otherwise. In a privatized health care system hospitals are for profit businesses, meaning you don't just pay for the cost of health care, you pay a profit margin as well. There are owners and shareholders that expect to be compensated and without regulation they are financially incentivized to charge you as much as they possibly can regardless of what their cost is. There literally is no reason or incentive for them to keep health care affordable, which hurts everyone. The public health care model works in many other developed countries - USA is the only major country that has yet to figure this out. The argument against public health care in theory is that it caps the earning potential of doctors and specialists which causes them to seek employment in countries with more favourable conditions, but in practice I have always been more than satisfied with the quality of health care I've received under a public system. It's not even wait times either. My wife is a US citizen and the last time she had to go to the ER in the states she spent the same 8 hours there as I would have expected her to spend here. Only difference is if she was eligible for health care here at the time, she'd still have that $5,000 in her pocket.
That is correct, ever since Obama care my wife's insurance she gets from worked doubled in cost, our deductible doubled and our coverage is less.
