I first tried reading Bhagavadgita in 1990s when I was in my 20s and I couldn't understand a word of Sanskrit. Later in 2000 bought a English version from ISKCON which I was able to understand a little bit couldn't cross 100 pages. Just a month back bought this set of two books,by god's grace am able to connect with each and every word in it. Now YSS coming out with a youtube series is another blessing. Thanks to Yoganandaji, his Guru, his Guru, his Guru..... and all YSS/SRF monks, teachers, and kriyabans......Jai Guru.
I never took a great liking to the drama of Mahabharatha, although I am born a Hindu. "Stories there are many, but what of them?" I used to think. My first Gita was a pocket edition from ISKON when i was 19 years old. I used to underline important lines and ponder about them. I remember my classmate saying, "At this rate, you will have to underline every word, because each line is loaded with meaning." Then, as a young devotee on this path, I had to read Guruji's 2-volumes of Gita from cover to cover, for a summer task, during my holiday in Ranchi. My young mind in early 20s, could not gauge the depth of this holy scripture then. But i noticed that my consciousness changed totally, by the time i finished the scripture, after a month or so. I have revisited the book after Swamiji's talks, because he makes it so practical, so livable and such intricate nuances of sadhana are explained with such simplicity that I am in love this scripture, again! Swamiji is the most precious gift to YSS and the devotees. The truths in these talks were lived by Swamiji himself for the last 30 years or so and that is why they touch our souls when he speaks.

Even though I could listen to Swamiji read a phone book this class is beyond measure... which of course is what the mind does... measure...but this goes beyond the mind -- talking directly to the intuition to the soul. Jai Guru Jai Bhagavan Jai Ma.
Very grateful to YSS for adding on you tube the first of the series of Swami Smarananadji 's explanation on Gurudev's interpretation of the Gita. For some of us ,parts of this scripture can be challenging to understand at times and Swamiji is kindly and divinely able to simplify it for us in a way that we can absorb it easily. .Pranams Swamiji 🙏

Heartfelt gratitude for so very lucidly explaining how Gita, especially Arujuna Talks with God - is a continuous reflective dailoguing process of Arjuna within us with the God also within us about the struggle to reclaim the lost Kingdom by reversing the flow of prana currents from moving downward and outward to inward and upward along the cerebrospinal column, crossing over the koshas; gross, subtle and causal bodies.
What YSS has been doing is price less . A selfless service to entire mankind . I recently joined and feeling myself very lucky . My life has been changed . Sadar pranam to all gurus of all religions and our beloved Guru Ji .
So very happy to find these series. After listening to the full series I am sure I will find it easy to start reading God talks with Arjuna. Otherwise I find it daunting and unable to get past few pages
