#Winnipeg #History old photos from Winnipeg and parts of Manitoba. Showing the Immigrant coming to a new country. Many left their Homeland to come join us in a new nation. Many struggled and worked hard to accomplish all their goals. Keep our past a beautiful memory. I hope you enjoy this content I made. there are not that many people doing this on RU-vid. So please subscribe and leave a thumbs-up.
there are a mixture of photos. From Winnipeg's past some even go back as far as 1850. There are several photos from the 1890s. And the early 1900s
maybe you will recognize some of the buildings in Winnipeg. And the streets. Some of the buildings have been torn down. But some of them are still standing strong.
many early settlers in Manitoba brought their culture with them. Still today they keep their Traditions alive and well.
all the music is from RU-vid Library. And is copyright free
enjoy the photo show. Thank you for watching. leave a comment. Give a thumbs up. And subscribe to the channel.

I find the masonry, stonework & architecture of the time so appealing, the craftsmanship involved is evident. I like that Winnipeg still has a lot of character buildings, though it would be nice for more to remain. One Great Grandfather worked in the old Royal Bank building & another Great Grandpa along with his children owned & operated a tailoring & furrier business that had two locations in Winnipeg. (I was eagerly looking for signage of their shops in the photos) I appreciate how the municipal planners designed very wide streets, I think they add a lot to a cities character. Thanks for putting these together

Such buildings in the mid 1800's unbelievable how so much could have been built in such a short time, especially when the weather is so cold

people worked harder in those days and they were highly skilled one of the buildings constructed in the city of Winnipeg was only built in 4 months it had over 400 workers many of these buildings are no longer with us they have been torn down and removed

I love these video kinds of videos, if you have any dates or footnotes associated with the photos I'd love to see them included as text near the bottom or in a corner in your next collection or if you plan on doing similar uploads in the future. Those with the hand-written water marks on the photos really add character.

yes I will probably do that. Post dates on when these photos were taken. Some of the photos do have a year date on them. The orange photographs are all from 1873 and earlier. Winnipeg didn't have that many buildings. some of the photos from 1904 and later have vehicles in them. And some of the buildings were built in 1910. the problem is a lot of people do not know the date of building was built. But I do.
