Winter 4x4 Jamboree Doesn’t Go As Planned! 

Now this looked like a fantastic ride. I loved how helpful the spotting was…It wasn’t a bunch of overconfidence….and the rigs weren’t unlimited checkbook builds……These are the kind of rides I think are the best. See ya at Hammers Hollie…..If we ever get Ben’s rig done….LOL

I suggest building an old 2 wheel drive right hand drive US Mail Jeep for the offroad challenge.

For the build challenge, definitely an LJ, short enough to be versatile, but enough room to have everything you need with you.

The build challenge needs to see a Jeep Commander on 42" tires.

What should you build for ONX? CJ7 with 4.0L. Look for something already built or stalled project with most of these: roll cage, doubler, Dana 60s double locked, 42s, and winch. Pay attention to what Colt did this year. Buy everything used. Then wheel it for a month before the competition. Good luck.

I thought about converting a real GP (JEEP), Bantam, Willy's or Ford (1940-1945). To a rock crawler, but staying as close to the original as possible. Nice and light, small, narrow and in itself Just Enough Essential Parts, or JEEP. And then convert that again General Purpus, GP. Please let me now, wath you think of that.

So an LJ for On X Challenge. If you can find one. Your already comfortable with the longer wheelbase. Just sayin...

I'm sorry Hollie, you know I love you, but after about the 10th Jeep in a row my eyes glaze over a bit, same with never ending LS swaps into anything and everything. I'd never make it as a Borg drone, the hive mind and all that.

ONX Offroad challenge is a several days so you'll want something small enough to make the trails but big enough to carry all your gear and camping equipment. A Jeep scrambler maybe?

For the build I would say a Jeep Cherokee like Matt's but I think it would be cool if used a 5.7 Hemi there is a motor mount kit through Summitt Racing I'm what else you would need but with a little research you could have a great build putting the Hemi that build. Anyway give it some thought and hope you will do it.

For the challenge build, a factory V8 Jeep Cherokee 5.9L.

I know you want to keep it in the Jeep family but, I personally feel as if Jeeps are overdone and that Toyota needs more love. You should take an already moderately capable FJ Cruiser and go absolutely bananas with it!

Did anyone else notice the Jeep they were fixing, the Metalcloak rear trackbar jam but was loose ?

One camera had great shots and scenery, the other camera was awful 😢. I truly hate to be critical. Mischief Maker deserves the best. He’s a handsome boy!

Consider a CJ-3B for a build. Built from 1953-1964 ish. There is a nice one in John Day, or. It's on a 1971 or 1972 frame, on 35 inch tires, and has a 225 V-6 odd fire engine. This would be a great build for the small tire competition. Just a thought.

Forget all the other comments about xj, th, ej, zj, and so on. Build an old JEEP pickup. I had '67 3/4 ton pickup with a 512 inch Buick and a 14 bolt rear from a dually wheel Chevy plus all the other drive train goodies. I also ran it on strictly propane as I built the engine with 12:1 compression. Now I a '63 JEEP pickup on a Suburban chassis with a 500 inch Cadillac engine. I say you build an old JEEP pickup.

Build a ZJ. Yes, it's unibody. But it can be found on a budget with V8 power and links and coils at both ends. Good aftermarket, not too big outside, but good storage space inside.

Find you 1970 to 1978 Land cruiser. You did ask, but we know like jeeps. But you do drive a tacoma. What one more toyota.

For the onX challenge I think it would be cool if you could find a CJ7 or a Jeep Scrambler to do. Might be harder to find but would be super cool to see. Especially the scrambler.

Cool video looks like all had a great time. As for the challenge, see if you can find an old school Commanche. That would be a good platform to start with, and tons of storage in the bed.
