Thanks man I really appreciate that. I respect everyone doing this but also think people from abroad should see our landscape more. It's definitely different than the rest and needs to be exposed for tripping because of that. Such a unique challenge. The AWR is a very cool remote wilderness experience so close to SJ. And hardly anybody goes into the heart of it. If you're ever looking to go on a haul drop me a line and maybe we could connect. Cheers buddy, great talking!

Living in Maine, USA I have seen a lot of brook trout throughout the years but I have never seen trout with dark speckles all over the underside like that. Very interesting. Learn something new every day, I guess. Done tons of ice fishing myself. I love the low tech method you use. Good on you, brother.

Thanks for watching Chad. Does that work even overnight? I seen it done when I was a young fella from my cousin in Bauline, he'd do it while we were in by the fire. But I had long forgotten it after spending a cpl decades of winters away from the woods and in the rinks. You just sparked my memory to do that next time. Appreciate the advice man.

joe was a stealth "poser" from the start of his "bushcraft" series; almost every implement was a merchandising "hawk". This stuff might be what city slickers like but older folks mostly hand crafted many of their backwoods implements & many were handed down for generations, sadly much of that craftsmanship is no longer common. Used to be a fellar could use a compass to "orienteer" his way in the woods; today GPS is all the techies know. If you handed 'em a topo map & compass they'd be lost.
