Who among us does not like gardens and their beauty that catches the eye and captures hearts, but beauty remains in human hearts that overflow with love, generosity and humanity .....
Oh Sara, this was a total delight - yay for winter growing. I would be so sad without my garden in the winter.....and hungry! I'm always amazed by and inspired by your winter harvests. Happy growing lovely. :-)
You have conducted such an insightful interview, Monty Don is truly amazing. I would also like to congratulate you for your English speaking ability. I got really impressed at hearing you! Congratulations and thank you for sharing this great content. A warm hug from Brazil 🇧🇷
I really appreciate your English versions! ❤ I am enjoying a new greenhouse & extending my growing season on the shore of Lake Erie, in Pennsylvania! What a pleasure to grow our own produce! I so enjoy following your journey in Sweden! ❤
Love to watch your videos. You are rare..only a few attempt to garden in the winter it should be taught more in the USA. I have watched some of Monty Don. I bought couple of greenhouses from your videos to try to grow lettuce and such in winter. I have to put the greenhouse together. Just fascinating!
Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness in filming in English! I loved this video. You are very inspiring. I look forward to hearing and seeing more of your videos in English.
And the ridiculous thing is, the virus is airborne. Nothing we've been doing -- social distancing, face diapering, lockdowns -- has any effect on transmission. We've allowed power hungry control freaks and their ignorant, fearful allies in the general public to destroy economies and lives over a germ that has as 99.98% survivability rate.
You are so right the truth will be exposed for the world to see the globalists organisations like the UN, WHO, WEF, World Bank, BIS, EU, ECB, Bill and Malinda Gates foundation, Big Farma, George Soros, Chinese Communist party and our carupt complying governments and politicians will be held to account for there criminal lock downs around the world. 🙏
Thanks for posting this video, your English is amazing and I love Monty Don. I do hope you will do more in English, your videos deserve to reach a wider audience. As a first year veg grower myself in the north of UK, you’ve inspired me to keep going through the winter. Everything I planted this year for autumn winter crops bolted due to a seriously hot spring and a very wet summer meant the fruit crops suffered, too, however amongst all the failures my curly kale is fantastic and recovered to see me through winter in magnificent style and I have some summer lettuce growing in my greenhouse . I can’t wait to get growing more things and hopefully seeing more of your videos and excellent advice. 🙏🏼💚🌱 subscribed. 🤞🏼
I agree the main challenge is to grow enough. The important thing is to sow enough during the critical stage in August, September and early October as you can’ really sow more later on if you realise there’s not enough.
What a fantastic film - thank you so much. I’ve really struggled to get my timings right with winter crops. Thankfully our broccoli, chard and kale had taken care of themselves and are delicious right now. I have been branching out with different tubers like oca and yacon - it’s very exciting .
I live in Michigan/USA and I belong to an in-season, outdoor community garden where we grow our vegetables in 6 raised beds. (and I grow many houseplants in my condo in the 6 months wintertime from November thru May.) But it has been sunny and 40's here in Michigan and I did harvest cool-weather, curly kale yesterday on December 2, 2020. We do the best we can! I am planning on experimenting with leaving carrots and parsnips in the ground over the winter next year. I am English spoking only.
I wish you the best of luck with your gardening, Please check out my videos on this channel. There are many videos on gardening. All the best to you in Michigan! 😊
I know this is off topic but you just made me make my mind over about shaving off my hair🙂. So pretty. I’m doing tomorrow!!! Your video showed up as a suggestion. Great video thank you. I’m from the USA.
So impressive! Have you seen Russ Finch’s greenhouse design?? He grows oranges in the winter in Alliance Nebraska - several more hours of sunlight in the winter - but it does get VERY cold...love 💕💕💕 from Canada 🇨🇦
Asparagus and maybe Purple Sprouting Broccoli for the hungry gap. Even new potatoes in buckets if you start them off indoors and move to the greenhouse as the weather improves.
I do appreciate that you talkin in English cuz I could not understand anything on the other RU-vid videos. I would love to hear more of your talk in English and also you have a beautiful garden
Hi I'm in Scotland just started growing veg in May, quickly put a tunnel over 2 raised beds in October to try to continue growing. I'm loving it. Where are you in UK.
@@joanmccafferty7807 I'm in North Wales. I'd love it if you would like to have a look at my videos, there are lots of my veg plot and polytunnel 😁 Roo x
Thank you for this video and especially for speaking English. I love Monty Don and I had been toying with the idea of gardening in the winter. Have you considered vertical gardening? You could utilize more space in your poly tunnel. Your garden looks amazing though!
I use Eliot Gould's Four Season Harvest to design my winter crops. Most folks consider seasonal temperature and forget the influence of day length pon growth
Thanks for the video, you should add in English subtitles on your swedish videos if that not too much trouble or effort and message in the descriptions of each that there are English subtitles for English viewers and that way we can all enjoy your previous videos. thanks!
Thank you! I will try and make more videos in English in the future. I am so glad that you enjoy my channel! Please follow my English channel!ru-vid.com/show-UCOrUMy3olIOorlxhgjTvKWg?view_as=subscriber 😀
Very energising to see you and Monty Don together! I haven't planted enough to over winter but will try harder next year! Just now I am sorting my seeds, I have created a new journal to record all my gardening adventures to come and remind me of what and when to sow and making Christmas decorations with seed heads from poppies and love in the mist flowers and pine cones, larch cones. I am spending the dark evenings making plant labels for the seeds I know I will be planting in the Spring. I have a bamboo in a large pot and it is time to cut it back and make plant supports. Most fun is making the journal from cardboard, magazine scraps and ribbon all recycled, I am thinking of making a few more as Christmas gifts. My best gardening experience last year was to see the smile on my friends face when she showed me the alliums she grew from seeds I collected in my garden and passed on to her.
Hi Kate! Thank you for asking! www.irrigatia.com This is the link to the watering system that I use! I am very happy with this watering system and I will tell you more about it in a blog post a later on. Take care! 😊
Hello from Virginia, USA. Would grow lights with the red and blue led bulbs be feasible for extending your growing season when the amount of sunshine is reduced? There are some lights with really high kelvins on the market now.
www.sarabackmo.com/hairstyle-shaving-my-head/ I dont mind you asking at all! I have written a blog post about it as I do get questions about it now and then. :)
