I used to live in Minnesota. Now, I just sit back and love watching these snowstorm videos from my home in Phoenix, AZ. 🤣🤣

Enjoy the ridiculous heat... P.S. There's a reason we're glad when the snowbirds fly south...they tend to whine a lot, pretty much worthless, all around. But keep pretending that it was you that benefitted from the move! We don't mind!

40 years ago I fled the midwest to come up here. Both to escape the damn humidity AND stop the lifelong frustration of going to wonderful places only to return to yukky cities. I found an 1883 homestead farm to RENT for $300/month; 400 acres flanking Custer National Forest in country that looks like CGI AND tons of wildlife. To point I had to CLOSE MY WINDOW because of 4th night of elk bugling. Rough run the last 30 years when doing the right thing got me blacklisted from usual medical work but allowed scrambling from Helena to mining towns to a couple years in Glacier Park. I was always low on resources but got what I needed and now so grateful all that hassle delivered such wonder. People thrive here but for the most part, if willing to compromise some things like overall income and, depending on how you embrace it, logistics and dangers similar to the pioneers make life more real. (Copied to re-read after looking outside at the 10" and moving my bet of 4WD to the access road up a few days).

Note: I've lived in L.A. (but as a kid in 60s and just remember wonder) yet Sacramento later for EMT training as well as the Midwest. FLED each time and yes, mostly due to the humidity although I do like seasons. To that point, low humidity makes cold more tolerable as well. NOTICEABLY, too. Not like your out there in shorts playing volleyball but just like low hum making heat more tolerable. And YES it gets hot as hell, too BUT, go figure, cools down each night even on the prairie. Hey, the Sierras aren't far! @@joycebruhn1346

@@joycebruhn1346California isn’t actual that hot unless you live inland. San Francisco is a city that is always foggy and 60 degrees most of the time, even in July. California weather is quite weird though in the coast, the hottest temperatures in coastal California actually occur in the fall months of September and October rather than July and August, even the month of November can record higher temperatures than the summer months of July and August. San Francisco recorded its record breaking temperature of 106 degrees on September 1, 2017, October also experiences some of the strongest heat waves with the highest recorded temperature in San Francisco in October reaching 102 degrees. It’s also the same in Los Angeles, the hottest recorded temperature in Los Angeles was 113 degrees recorded on September 27, 2010, the hottest recorded temperature in Los Angeles in the month of October reached 106 degrees on October 24, 2017. So fall in coastal California is actually the hottest time of the year rather then the summer months of July and August.

@@CoalCreekCroftMidwest humidity isn’t actual that bad I’ve been to Iowa in July during the peak of the summer and I adapted just fine. The humid air is actually more breathable then the dry Montana air.
