I’m glad I found your channel. Not a lot of YT sailors keep it real. Can’t stand the reality tv feel In most of them.

Haha thanks, when morgan saw the video she said, "could have waited until high tide. Work hard, not smart."

Hmm something I'm wondering about is why this video starts with ads. I have a non-monetized channel. I don't get any ad revenue. What gives RU-vid?

Crazy question from a Mainer who should know better. Looking to get 28'. Where do I even dock it? How do I go about finding who'll let me? And what's a good price? Penobscot bay. Thanks. I

Hey Nate! I don't have a great line on what marinas have openings. Best advice I can give is to Google marinas that meet the criteria of being close to your home and in an area you are interested to sail in. Then give them a call to inquire about price and availability. Another factor to consider is if you want to be dockside or out on a mooring. Dockside is more expensive, but you can plug in for power. Mooring is nice because it's quick and easy to go out for a sail without bothering with dock lines or fenders. But you would need a dinghy to get back and forth to your boat. Marina prices are typically charged by the foot. So a 28' boat shouldn't be crazy expensive but I wouldn't want to quote you a price because it can vary so much from one marina to another. Most people will keep there boat at a "home" marina that you can establish a good relationship with. Then just take there boat out for day sails. Then occasionally going out for a more extended sailing vacation. While out on a long sail just drop anchor in a cove for the night and skip any marina fees. If you do need to pull into a marina, then call ahead and make arrangements. Hope this answers your question. Thanks for watching my video.

Considering liveaboard this winter - we're in Penobscot Bay, but could really go anywhere. Boat is heated and equipped for the cold. Wondering if you have any recommendations on marinas with others doing the same. Don't want to be too much of a hermit.

Sorry to get back to you like a year later. I'm just getting back into my channel. Did you end up living aboard? Our first marina was DiMillos in Portland. There was a great winter community there. Boat life has a little less of the "hermit" stigma than van life in my opinion. It is also very convenient (for us at least) to work at boat yards or marinas while living aboard. Makes the commute to work easy and often dockage is included in the benifits.

Don't ask me why I'm watching winter sailing videos when it's still summer:) I live in Maine also and am curious what marina you are at for the winter? Thanks

Robinhood Marina, Georgetown. But were the only boat here. They shut off the water and showers. We just stay because my wife works at the marina.

Does she have one blue eye and one brown eye?.

Yes! Keen observation my friend. Morgan's eyes are two different colors. One is much more green/brown and the other is lighter and bluer.
