In this video we will be going on a market hunt in Krakow, Poland. We will visit one of the oldest markets in the old town square of Krakow to buy some souvenir's both for myself and you guys! Unfortunately, this will be my last post from Poland as we had to cut our trip short due to us getting very ill. In most major city, you'll always find people that speaks English. But the local markets are usually run by the locals, not franchise. Therefore, they only speak their native tongue.

I loved Krakow when i visited 8 years ago, loved the square the markets the people. Auschwitz is something that will stay with me for the rest of my life, no film or documentary prepares you and how big that place is. Apart from the tour guides most people walk around in silence, i certainly did just could not believe what i was seeing!! Love your videos, thankyou for sharing and bringing back some wonderful memories of Krakow 🙂

Love that indoor Market as a building but agree with you that a lot of stuff is the same in many places but the prices vary. Cath likes boxes so that would have been a buy. You make me laugh when you chat away in English as though the person is obviously gonna know what you are on about and then seem surprised when they dont. Caths son is the same. Poland is such an underrated country, I went in 2006 & toured the concentration camps too, it was very very very depressing, to see in person cannot be described, but like you, once was enough for me.

Not sure if you are aware but there are some old city ruin’s that have been excavated directly under the town square. You wouldn’t know they were there and I cannot remember exactly how you access them. Definitely worth a visit.

24:15 that building looks like the Słowacki Theatre (Teatr Słowackiego). You probably passed it multiple times if you went from the train station and the mall to the Market Square.

The dragon legend actually goes like this: Underneath the Wawel Hill (where the castle is) in a den lived a dragon and terrorized the whole city, kidnapping maidens and livestock. The King wanted to do something about it but all the knights and warriors he sent to fight it, failed. So finally the King told a young shoemaker to sew an imitation of a lamb, fill it with sulfur and leave it in front of the den. The hungry dragon quickly swallowed the puppet and the sulfur reacted with the fire in its belly. It run up to Vistula river and started drinking so much water that it exploded at the end. That's how the dragon was slain. Other versions of the legend say that the bait was the shoemaker's idea an as a reward he got to marry the King's daughter.
