Winter mulching with the FAE 150 with Sonic and K/3 teeth. 

This FAE skid steer mulcher is the UML/SSL/Sonic 150, smooth drum.
We installed and tested the K/3 tooth as it is the best for rocky conditions, and is said to perform better than the double carbides.
In this region, there is always a rock, or many.
The snow did not seem to affect the mulching performance until it was around 6" in depth.
Winter mulching has its advantages, no dust, no leaves, cool machine, some species are easier to mulch when frozen.
Overall we found the mulcher to perform great on the Kubota SVL95, the Sonic controlled the drum speed, and the teeth shredded material while soaking up hits on hidden rocks.
