This is unbelievably great job on your part. I agree with you. There should be a no dumping ordinance. If not why not. Most properties have utilities, wells, etc., noted on property survey documents right. You would think HOA would have pertinent info need when hiring any business for specific jobs. God Bless you for a job well done
I agree completely. This HOA has just recently changed over into new management by the homeowners and they are trying to right the wrongs of the previous HOA. The president has been out there every day marking points of interest and communicating with me. A pleasant surprise that will continue to improve!
You need to find an excavator mulcher guy so you can sub out work you can't do but still make money on it. I try to have a guy for every job I can't do so I never have to turn down the work
Great job on the mulching like your work I too hate it when people just leave or throw trash anywhere I don't get I probably go even further and get a big trash bag and throw all in there that's me👍👍 Rudy G.
For future jobs like this I would look into getting a license to spray chemicals. Especially for kudzu. There are chemicals that will only kill kudzu and do no harm to trees or shrubs. I know it would make your job much easier. Love your videos and great job!
I was going to comment that he should have hit this with a crap duster, not a mulcher. And I think you're right about chemically attacking this type of job, but, this is very good for his business to have something that grows so quickly. Keep coming back.
Experienced the debilitating job of removing nylon wrap from a flail mower. Absolutely it wears a knife edge down quickly. I tried a large pair of sharp shears and it goes through it like butter. Cuts the job by more than half. Keep a pair in the cab and see for yourself.
Just an idea. Maybe you do this, but I was thinking probably asking property owners beforehand if they're aware of any potential hazards on the property. I wonder if they knew about that?
Great job man. Just found your videos. I have a couple questions if you don't mind. Is it hard finding consistent work or pretty much seasonal? Also, do you get to keep any larger trees you may need to cut and have a chance to haul them to a mill nearby or does that money go back to the customer? Keep up the awesome work
It’s definitely seasonal. But you can always put in contracts with line companies and silt fence installers, that’s steady work for sure. If I fell any trees I ask if they want them removed. If they say so I’ll just take them. Just make sure you have it contractually written down. Thanks a lot and thank you for watching.
Agree 100% had to end up getting one for my uncles property and kudzu hasn’t been much of an issue since. Obviously an investment but might be worth it if you have a lot of it in your area(don’t we all!).
I was paid to cut it back so that the HOA could get the lot under control. The Landscaping crew came in and sprayed a few months after any new growth showed up. Thanks for the comment.
@@honeycuttsbrushmore3244 sounds good. I was on the edge of my seat watching you go into it. I knew there were going to be hazards like metal...always is. I once got 1” steel rope wrapped around my drum…not a happy day.
Your choices with kudzu are limited. Fire, digging it out or maybe some goats to keep it at bay. The goal is to exhaust its carbohydrate supply from its root ball to kill it. Herbicides are generally ineffective due to price and how much you need to apply to keep it killed back. I spray for Class 1 railroads and in the south kudzu is an absolute beast in some remote stretches of rail.
Mentally tough….physically tough…. REALLY!!! All work is that and more in the real world!! Welcome to life brother.. try farming sometime on a large scale whe. You Butt is in the seat for 24 hrs straight or more. Just a note. You could have done the same thing with the kudzu using a 6’ bush hog brand model #406 cutter mounted to a 75hp 4WD 7520 Mahindra tractor with equipment cost of +/- $25,000 or less. And it’s a lot easier to repair when you damage it vs. your $100,000 plus set up.
Hey there Gene, I help my family farm 700 acres here in NC on top of a full time job. This isn’t counting the skid work and mulching. Trust me I know what you’re talking about. I’m sure there are others that work way harder and I commend that. Hard work does pay off. Thanks.
That took around 6 hours with the breakdowns and maintenance! Price depends on the job! Right now I charge around $200 an hour for the mulcher. I usually negotiate a daily rate with the customer and try to make sure the price is fair. That dollar amount per hour is the going rate around here and usually separates the serious customers from the tire kickers. Hope that helps.
2500 duramax, with a 22k pound tow capacity 25 and 5 dove tail gooseneck. The duramax pulls fine. It’s just not enough brake for the machine. I would suggest a single axle dump truck with a pintle hitch trailer with the same specs as my gooseneck. Hope this helps.
@@honeycuttsbrushmore3244 Thanks for the reply! Definitely looked like a 2500 Duramax, but I couldn't tell for sure from the distance. Very impressive! Cool to know that the 2500 will tow it in a pinch. Do you have an exhaust brake on it, or just the service brakes?
Background sound around 20mins in sounds like "first 48" sorrow song. Please find more motivating, active songs for these videos. Song choices are depressing for an awesome work like this you are doing.
trying to cover somone elses mess by making it even werse you shuld have never went in there to ruin the pristine state that was messed with nature can't be impruved upon it can only be taken away
I dont think id even take on a job of vines like that where you cant see what your cutting. Not worth it to me. Or else i woild charge accordingly to walk out every square foot of the property prior to find all the garbage.
I like to b upfront where action is not watching u 10 mile away just seeing u back in and out of the brush. I think a big hit for u would b to mount ur cam on the roof of the bob cat with the mulcher head just at the bottom of the cam screen that way we can see what ur driving into and what ur mulching pretty much from ur point of view and I bet ur subscribers will go up a tremendous amount, coz right now we don’t get to c much of what’s going on, and maybe for a different view from that on the arm of the bobcat for when it’s going up and down into the brush as well. Just some food for thought to make it more interesting for us viewers. Give it a try and c what happens 😉🤙🇦🇺. Nice job tho
Drive through it bleed up at least a foot and a half through everything first, the machine will tell you was underneath you no sense to go to the ground right off the gecko that was junk. Yeah, right
It is such a shame that the people dumping that stuff couldn't just put it to the curb, and if the people who live there know it's there they need to tell you!!! Great job!!!
You did a wonderful job. Please keep going with your videos and the skeet steer. I really enjoy the videos and how you do things. They would have done okay with a weed eater. Laugh out loud. LoL. But I am a female so what do I know.
Lance, I see your frustration. But you are making a big difference. Is the subdivision planning on new homesites on those neglected areas? That area on this video looked like a cul-de-sac with room for new houses.
good job! you should figure out a way to mount a camera or 2 on the machine maybe in between the lights that way we can get some killer views from what you see as you doing these jobs
