4:55 Absolutely relatable. I’m a clarinetist and I’ve had so many experiences when I thought I finally cracked the code to having a good embouchure and knowing how to hit those altissimo notes easily, but it all just reverts the next day. It really is just small adjustments and wins that make it better!
every time you upload a practice and workout makes my day. love the content and advice keep it up man seriously love your channel and has helped me as well be a better player.
i changed my embouchure on trumpet about 1 year ago (trumpet being my third instrument) and it actually led me to quit trumpet for a few months. my change in embouchure was more extreme however, it helped my air flow and resonance greatly in the long term, and got easier and better after like months of lots of practice (im a highschooler so like 1 hour a day and not very good) and it feels great now. hope you can nail that embouchure in no time articulation is still a big struggle though
i might start watching a little bit of your shorts everyday from now on, i just found you today and i play trumpet and you already have helped me with so much
One thing I've found really helpful with the breath attacks on Caruso is making sure I really hear the air going through my horn first. This is especially helpful when trying to do breath attacks in the upper register, you learn to "aim" the air in the right place and then as Caruso puts it "touch the lips", and the right note will eventually come out. Cool video, new sub!
