This week we have ventured further north to the city of Sunderland. The weather has turned and winter has set in, but our adventure continues!
We show you the aftermath of the storm, introduce you to our new friends and take you with us on our sail to our Christmas destination.
We started our adventure in summer when we made a life changing decision to leave our jobs, pack everything up and move aboard our 28ft boat! We set sail north, but were delayed by a series of issues. Now back on track we are cruising the North East coast of England on the way up to Scotland! Join us as we share our experiences of sailing and living aboard our small boat.

Thanks for oyster inspiration. I'm now going to explore my own region this Winter and hopefully enjoy a weekend of oyster gourmanding in Limfjorden, Denmark ✌️⚓️

We love the North East of England. We are hoping to make our way down to our south coast, but not sure if that will be this summer or next.

Really enjoyed that video! Love those 2 swans. I'll bet they miss you both. I didn't realise that Sunderland was the home of the Pyrex bowl, so you taught me something there! Glad you got to Royal Quays safe and sound, if a little freezing! It's lovely to see you both so well x

Thanks Steve, we are missing the swans, but we have 2 more here. Nice couple but she’s a bit of a bossy boots! 😂 Sunderland’s also the home of Nissan Bluebird too!

Fun Episode, storm & cold aside😅. We loved our days berthed in Royal Quays in October. The train into Newcastle is nearby not to mention the pies at Low Lights Tavern in North Shields.

Just come across your RU-vid channel, we are from the North East and been Amble marina based for years, we not long ago sold out etap 32i a rare model with wheel steering, we loved that boat with its insulation and build quality, we never had condensation and was a true all climate boat. Only issue for me was engine access for maintenance. We only sold it because we need a bigger boat to livaboard and start our circumnavigation . We will be following you on your adventure. We are in Royal Quays until March and then we are heading up the coast and will be stopping off at Amble. We love it up there! We have definitely been glad we have an Etap with the cold weather we have had. What boat are you getting next and when do you hope to set off?

@@gavin_and_james_sailing we need something with a bit of room, skeg hung rudder and encapsulated keel, we love the colvic Victor 40 design but decent ones are getting harder to find. We are planning to live aboard in the marina hopefully with in the next 3 years and set off on our circumnavigation in about 5 years time. The 2 years in the marina will give us a chance to make sure we get the boat ready for world travel with water maker, solar , lithium and hydrovane etc. Give us a shout when your at amble we'll pop down we are quite local to the marina. We've got a couple of original etap tumblers you can have.

Nice video, thanks. Looking forward to the boat tour to see how it differs from my 28i. I see you have an oven - the old hob that came with mine needs replacing, so I'm thinking about what to get. Interested to see if you've done anything to improve interior lights. (nerdy Etap post)

Yes we have met a few in summer and we also follow a lot of other sailing RU-vid channels who are doing the same and in contact with some of them. We also went to the Birmingham Boat |Show where we met up with some other sailing RU-vidrs. In the marina where we are now there are a couple of other liveaboards too.
