You have to remember to buy the soil at summer time. It happens to me one year. Now I make sure to save a bag for my winter sowing. Also sometimes the seeds are the problem. You did good though. I did have some Delphinium from seeds last year but I made mistakes and put them in the garden. I don't think that they will survive my 7b temp.

Thanks for posting! I am trying for winter sowing for the first time,I will use your tip for labels using yogurt containers. I am on the prairies and we have milk jugs here, what is the reason for using bags for milk in Ontario?

Wishing you success with it! Honestly I'm not too sure about the exact reasons, but I think it has to do with shipping into the city (the bags come to grocery stores packed tightly into totes) and portion sizes (we get 4L in 3 bags) or one can purchase smaller cartons also. I do wish we had the option to get milk jugs lol

Started sowing in late January that year (and just put out a few containers this year and will continue to do so as I get more plastic containers- I usually wait to see when we'll be getting cooler temperatures and snowfall, which came pretty late this winter). Happy gardening :)
