Further footage from the Harz this time featuring the Harzquerbahn and Selketalbahn. Scenes were filmed between Drei Annen Hohne and Sorge and between Alexisbad and Gernrode between February 18th. - 26th. 2017.

Many thanks Chris, I'm sure the Selketalbahn must be under threat. it would be a shame if it closed as it has a real rural railway charm.

That whistle is very reminiscent of of those of Stanier design Austin, much better that the usual high pitched version.....Superb clips, each one a Gem in it's own right....Bob

Thanks Bob, yes the whistle is very like a Stanier hooter. Its wonderful to hear the constant whistling in the distance after a train has passed as there are so many small crossings

Missed this somehow Austin but wow , cracking opening shot with all the others being spot on . Still makes me laugh at the line not even having a fence or a wall and even the crossings have no barriers LOL .

Excellent photography. The snow comes out nicely and loco not too dark. I do appreciate your videos since I've been unable to get to the Harz myself - got as far as putting a £100 deposit down with Festiniog Travel but had to pull out when sense overwhelmed enthusiasm !

Many thanks Andrew. I do hope you can make it to the Harz sometime. I'd recommend making your own arrangements rather than an organised package. It does allow a lot more flexibility

Nice to see 99 6001 about; that makes a good sound too. Nice 'Colditz' style titles. :D

Thanks, really wish I'd done the Selketalbahn when Mallets handled the service trains but 6001 is a fine loco. I thought Germanic style titles would be apt, used to love the Colditz series

Part two of WOW, Austin. Weather was great. Winter, autumn, and spring mixed accidantially. Great Harz pics at flickr, too. Include very impressing 'Vulcano'. Looks like painted (did your wife uses special filters?) Again some great video cam and photo cam shots similar to the great railway yard night pic formerly at Wernigerode. - Heinz Btw: Origin bratwurst stall of 'Bratwurst Maxe' at Drei Annen Hohne missing. Do you have some footage worth to post?

Thank you Heinz and glad you enjoyed the photos too. My wife does improve her photos with Photoshop. I have some photos of the bratwurst stall at Drei Annen as I would like to try to make a model of it sometime. It is a different style to my 'Bratwurst Maxe'...and his bratwurst taste much better too!

Thanks, Austin - another greatly enjoyable video. Already knowing the background, the weather contrasts are to be anticipated but nevertheless splendid to see. You definitely got the best of whistles on these sections of the Harz. As a by-the-way, are you familiar with Gerhard Weller's videos? Thanks for the link Bob, I've subscribed to Gerhards channel. There are so many interesting German narrow gauge lines on the 'to do' list if we can tear ourselves away from the wonderful Harz
