I have to comment on you as a Podcaster. I've been so impressed with how easy you make it seem after watching many other Podcaster who just don't have what you have naturally. Things just flow so nicely. You're prepared, professional but not over the top, and just so pleasant to watch and listen too. Great job. This video is another win in my book. Very interesting to listen to. Thank you!

Great episode as always. I like that the patterns you featured aren’t the typical knits that everyone shows. Looks like there is something for everyone.

Amy thank you so much for this amazing research. All the patterns you showed are just great and I'm so happy to see such a variety of designers however big or small. I've never heard of most of them, which is great. Love the exposure to new designers and new knits. Savings this video for future reference :)

Hi Amy! I think the Audrey jacket by @cocoamourknitwear and the boucle jacket by @knitsfromoslo actually fit better into the Chanel category. Love the video! Would love to see a Sezane dupe knitwear video!

I think the Big Check by Hinterm Stein (a cardigan) could fit into the Chanel Jacket category. Although there isn’t any buttons on the outside band they could be added.

Hi Amy! Quite obsessed with your podcast and curently trying to watch every episode from the start. Just wanted to jump in and mention the « bouclé jacket » from the designer knits from Oslo that was just released, it looks just like a Chanel type jacket (Made in stockinette but worn inside out, with regular yarn held with bouclé mohair)

I've been hearing about that pattern! It certainly is a great match for the trend. I think it came out right after I finished filming this video!

thank you Amy. Appreciate so much of your videos: your content, choices both pattern and wool, even the tone and pace of your speech. It's all important. I have a question though and this may be an idea for a future video. my question: what wool would you suggest for, in particular a cabled sweater. Yes each pattern has a suggested wool , but often the suggested yarn is not readily available and a sub must be ordered on-line. I knit a heavily cabled cardigan once but it was so heavy I wouldn't wear it and I've avoided cables since! thanks for your suggestion, if you have one.
@neknits
@neknits 7 месяцев назад
Cables do use a lot of yarn so understood that the sweaters can get quite heavy! In general for cabled patterns, I look for yarns that have at least 3-4 plies for good stitch definition. I think it would be interesting to look up the densities of different fibers to see what would get you the most yardage with the least weight, in addition to still having multiple plies for those cables. Knit Picks has some good options, like Wool of the Andes or High Desert for cabling!

Thanks for the trend review. I like to watch your podcast for ideas for my daughter. I think she would like the Prima pullover or the Emily jacket. I'm thinking to knit the Prima in a DK with cashmere though as I think narrower ribs with a "softer" yarn would be better. The pattern calls for superwash yarn which I think would be a disaster when it grows??

similar to the Chanel inspired jackets there's an absolutely gorgeous jacket by THINNNG called Natalie Tweed, it's to die for! It's on my list to knit in low contrast colors!

Yeah, the striped sweater trend did come from a designer brand (Toteme). You can really see how the Toteme sweater influenced the Gap sweater with the long, ribbed cuffs and hems, side-vents, wide sleeves, drop shoulders and turtleneck. The contrast stripe also comes from Toteme. Even though the Toteme sweater doesn't have the trend you talk about (where the stripe pattern starts late and ends early), I think it's so interesting how one sweater kicked off a striped knitwear movement and is still influential in both commercial fashion and knitting 4 years later

I love your podcasts. You provide so much info. Too many videos talk about their day. Sorry…but I’m just not that interested. I want to learn about knitting patterns and yarns. I also love today’s content because I’m too lazy to research what is in style but it would be nice if my knits are “on trend”. Thanks so much for all your concise and informative videos.🥰
