In this video we will be doing a little winter trout fishing. This is my first time ever going after michigan trout in the bitter cold of January, but it won't be the last! Tag along with me on a Michigan creek in dead of winter.
Your videos are amazing you've inspired me to go creek hunting again, this trout app is amazing as well. Try using a float for steelhead, one sliding weight to match, 10 - 12“ leader for those small streams and a Berkley trout worn pink shad color. You will love it. Tight lines
Winter trout fishing is my absolutely my favorite. I’m in Southwest Michigan and that river looks extremely similar to the one I fish every weekend. Tight lines man 🤙
@@CrouseOutdoors if anything I feel like I should be the one asking you for tips haha. I mostly bottom bounce spawn, crawlers and throw panther martins.
That looks like a tributary of the Muskegon? I like to fly fish streamers and with the spinning outfit it’s tough to beat panther Martins and floating Rapalas
this is a great video i just started targeting trout 7 months ago i hit one at gates au sable lodge like a 5 inch rainbow i was hooked lol! since then after 15 trips i only landed 3 browns since then but i also had to figure out i wasnt allowed to fish the tributaries all winter they are type 1 so i take it this isnt a type 1? great catch man im this much more amped to hit the tributaries ! keep the good vids coming! tight lines all day brother!
I haven't been targeting browns for long and I just landed a 19 and a half incher the other day. In a hole with a little bit of an over hanging branch on a cloudy yet warmer day. He fought like holy hell on the okuma 6' UL Celilio. So far I'm loving the rod.
I had one hook it’s own tail from its mouth and both hooks stayed hooked. So I reeled in a Rainbow in the shape of a donut. I was curious as to why it just quit fighting until I saw what it managed to do.
Beautiful job on hooking up with all of those fish. I live up near traverse city and have tried creek fishing a few times but can never entice them into biting anything. if you dont mind me asking, what area of michigan are you in? NW, NE? or from down south?
Great video, most streams this size are closed to trout fishing on my side of the state ( Western Mi) what area are you in, without being to specific, also, could you have kept the browns and steelies if you had wanted to? Thanks
