I can't believe that Dr. Hannah hiked to a hot spring and stayed dry. Now I'm questioning the most unshakable laws of reality. Does e always equal mc^2? Can anything travel through space faster than light. Does it really take only 3 licks to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop? Wonderful video once again, Hannah. I cannot imagine that much snow. Great video as always! Question... Are you keeping the Truck and Truck camper as well as the Sprinter? Or are you moving 100% to the Sprinter? Will be sad to see the Truck go. And I think 37s are a great idea! I am upgrading my power wagon to either 35s or 37s, but thinking 37s are the way to go.

Totally hear you on Ford pricing. I'm a lifelong Ford devotee. Haven't thought about owning anything else. Well, this past September I needed to replace my '02 F150 (240,000 miles). Went to the Ford lot here in Austin to kick tires. Even the used trucks with 75k miles were $50k+. Very frustrating. Went 1/4 mile down the road to Dodge and found brand new trucks priced nearly $10k below the used Ford trucks. I'm now a proud owner of a 2022 Ram 1500. Just anecdotally, I see lots of new Dodge trucks on the road here in Texas. Given the pricing I saw, doesn't surprise me one bit.

Prices are coming down quickly; vehicles, RV's and yachts. It might be wise to wait. As well, there is a BIG difference between dealers in cities and in more rural locations. There is very little inventory in the cities because people have more money and are willing to pay the high prices. However, there is relatively more inventory at the rural dealers and the prices are MUCH lower.

I hope you are able to get your spinter van, as I really do think it will be better overall for your adventures. It will be good to see how you upgrade it over time to make it more your own. Your truck is good for the winter with the higher ground clearance, but you will find new adventures in the states to explore in van life. Stay warm, and Merry Christmas

I hope you get the Sprinter van, I think that is a good choice for you winter adventures since you do not need to exit the van to setup! To bad you couldn't get the Ford Transit van. I have run the Sprinter, the Transit, Nissan and Chevy, the Sprinter had issues all the time, the Nissan and Transit van had fewer issues and were less expensive when you repaired them. All in all I loved the Ford Transit so much more than anything. Good luck with the Sprinter if you get it. Watch for early signs of body rust.

I was disappointed in the down grading to full time 4x4 by them, but I don’t know, I still have yet to own 4 wheel drive of any sort, I am driving my 1988 Volvo 240DL wagon , rear wheel drive only, in Alaska. At work I do plow with an F250 and it does great.

Can't believe you were defeated after all the snow and mountain terrain you have trudged through previously to reach one hot spring after another . That opening though , with the moonlit almost pitch black sky , the full moon , the whole picture was so peaceful . I also enjoy just looking up at the heavens on a clear night , all the stars , the peace and solitude .

So... Didn't you hear about the High Cost of Diesel because of limited availability.... Plus.... There is No Such thing as a Good Deal on a Sprinter - including Maintenance & Repairs.... I also think the Pickup handles better in the wind & Rugged condition's then a Tall Van....

Hmm, did I find those Ford dealers asking $15,000 to $20,000 over sticker like you mentioned? Yes, I surely did. In fact, I found plenty of Mercedes dealers doing the same for many of the Sprinters I looked at as well. On the other hand, I found countless offers at MSRP for both the Transit and the Sprinter. In most cases though the Transits needed to be marked up at least $10,000 before they reached the Sprinters list price. Sounds like you really wanted a Sprinter but didn't want to upset family. But if they aren't buying then buy what you want. In any event, you are correct, never pay that much over sticker. However, the tables have turned and any car dealer that thinks they are going to get that much over MSRP in December 2022 is either a fool or knows their local customers are. My local GMC dealer is back to selling Savannah vans at MSRP. The local Nissan dealer will now sell a 4x4 Frontier below MSRP where in May they were asking $5000 over sticker. Of course, they will also sell you one at MSRP plus a thousand bucks worth of worthless add on's if you let them, they're still car dealers after all.

Hannah - No Mercedes. My service buddy and best friend is: 1. a mechanic/electrician at Mercedes Trucks since 23 years here in Sweden, 2. A technical genius. All this time he has told me horror stories about Mercedes quality. And the Sprinter diesel engines break down/seizes(!) very easily/often. They cannot handle cold weather. Then they tend to seize. And you like snow and go to cold places. So don´t. Don´t buy a Mercedes anything. Just don´t. I want to spare you that trouble and expenses. Go for Ford or anything with a real american diesel. But not a Mercedes. They seize too often. Maybe some company can convert your F250 from propane heating to diesel heating? Cannot be too hard... Great video - really beautiful snow white hair at the hot spring! And I also wish you a very blessed and cozy Christmas! You are worth it! :)

If you are willing to wait order your van. Granger Ford in Iowa was taking orders on 2023 Superduty for less than MSRP so might be worth a call for Transit. One consideration with Mercedes is many Mercedes dealers won’t service Sprinters and Transit has much bigger network for service. Anyhow good luck.

Hanna,if you can,hold off for a few months, hold off on Any vehicle purchase that involves ADM(Additional Dealer Markup). There is a bill pending that would outlaw it. Dealer greed has massively exploded since Covid19 and chip shortages. Some are outrageous. Good choice on a a Sprinter! I have worked in automotive dealers in the past and have never seen such greed. Not sure when they get around to passing the bill, you might want to look into it further if interested. Best wishes and stay warm.

They have a kit that puts 40's on your truck. Although I don't know if I'd do it without a diesel. As a tune helps fuel mileage considerably. I have to admit, I was hoping you'd jump in the Hot Spring. But I do totally understand. lol The Sprinter isn't supposed to get the good choice for a 4x4 now. One of the others is more robust. Have fun.

Always adorable! A sprinter will definitely be more comfortable, and now that you have the T-dub you don’t need the van to see all the places. The TW200 is a great bike. I may get one as a second bike. I’m all set up for moto camping and I’ve been filming, figuring out the camera and mic setup. I’ll start posting videos soon.

The only thing I was used having included in your soup is chopped potatoes. So just how quiet is it when you’re at that particular location sleeping over night? Too quiet? That was some thick powder, and why don’t you have snow shoes? Oh I think you made a wise decision not to take a dip in that tempting hot spring. That’s when you need a snow mobile to travel to and from an isolated site that your truck can’t go into. I think you need a Huusk Japanese Viking knife, and you never have mentioned what it’s like to evacuate your bowel. You need to see if you can be sponsored by another Japanese designed product wrappon portable toilets. Not cheap. So how old were you when you started snowboarding? I happen to watch a tik tok clips of a young girl and a young boy and girl just flying down the hill snowboarding. She’s novices flying down at adult speeds not realizing it. I was wondering if you were the same way when you started out. You capture some idyllic snow cover scenery each time you’re in that environment. I’m hoping you’re able to get that sprinter you’re on the waitlist for. Or tell me where he lives and I’ll make sure you get it. Just kidding. Having driven a sprinter, the interconnect ford van, and a dodge van with similar body style. Fords are slow to accelerate. Dodges can just accelerate with a slight touch of the pedal. (Hold on!) Entering a Dodge van if you’re careless you can hit your head on the door frame. (Ouch!) Sprinters are great, but they can have mechanical issues that may take a while to repair them. Oh, I would have thought you would’ve already been equipped with a diesel heater! That camera is a nice item to have. Safe travels.

Im from a Ford family too, and I drove transits for a shuttle company. The dual rear high roof all wheel drive transit doesn't get very good mileage, 13ish in my experience. Also they're pushing that little motor too hard with the turbo, works great when new, makes a lot of power, but they're having problems with turbos and exhaust around 100k. And tow rating is low, really shouldn't tow much with that little motor. You're right that the all wheel drive will do most of what you want, like getting over snowy mountain passes no problem at all. Hopefully sprinter specs are beefier.
