Joel, has anyone ever told you there is a family quality to your voice that I often hear in Andrews voice as well?? It's a kind, happy voice. Thanks for interesting video. Take care always.
Beautiful to us Floridians ... but we don't have to work in it, so God bless you! I've experienced 13 degrees all day in Tallahassee back in 1969, but that's as cold as I've had. I laughed at your slip/fall down, but was very impressed with how you got in there so easy. And thanks for taking the time and effort to set up all those camera shots.
Those camera angles of the horses being let out were fantastic, what's that you say? Do you mind if we let the little donkeys out to play inside a bit? YES PLEASE! that's my favorite part of the channel , seeing those little things
Joel the Veggie Boy is also a noted professor at Veggie Boys A&M University. He's a young man who is brimming with knowledge and has a great ability to communicate effectively to his students about his animals. I can almost smell the hay and manure in each video!
Hi Joel, I am an electrician. I noticed in your video that the receptacle for your water heaters is burnt. It should also be a GFCI receptacle for your safety. The receptacle should be replaced.
Joel, love how the horses can almost stable themselves. You can tell you have a great compassion for these animals and it shows everytime you give us a glimpse into the daily lives of you and your family. Also, I love it when you call each horse by name. Its a game with me to try to name them with you. Keep the videos coming. I love horses.
Omg I love poncho. Get well soon sweetheart. Falcon is super buff and beautiful. Tucker and weather super charming. Champ is also cute with the maroon / red blanket and Suede with the little white spot. Dad is amazing helping you with the video while you’re slacking off or something. 😄
thanks for the cold video. When it's cold out, the function of warm clothes will always win over fashion every time. We've had a really cold winter so far in Wisconsin. I'll take your 20 degrees and over the -16 we had this past week, which did not include a windchill of -37. Stay warm.
Lol watch you slip on ice Joel in hay trough sorry I laugh you was their then disappeared . Love how you take care of the horses and mini donkeys .And your parents come to help in the morning . Round bales of hay save time and keeps the square bales for stales . It’s just know got real cold here and some snow flurries an windy temp 26 and snowing again.
Very nice educational and mature video. If you hadn't explained how the horses actually prefer to be out in the pasture than inside I would have felt really bad for them. Also thanks for explaining their diet and how it keeps them warm as well.
Thank you for this video. I drive past another horse stable daily and I'm always worried about the horse out in this cold without blankets. This put my mind at ease with understanding more.
Where I live in South Carolina we just got our first snow in many years and got 2 inches. It was really nice to see but was gone by noon the next day. Thanks for the video.
I feel you with cold I live in North of England been around freezing for over a week snow is on its way back, love how all them beautiful horses know which is there stable
This is weird but I liked see the horses haveing beds and being in at night and day. But it takess a lot of people to clean up so you are constantly busy and you need more people. Weather in his pink chequered blanket was funny, can you tell his owner, he wares it well!!! Jonathan your dad has taken to the camera really well and dealing with the horrible slushy ground. Hope things stay frozen for a while now!!!
Joel and his parents grew up there. So, they're used to this cold weather. When I moved to the tropics, it took about 3 months for my body to acclimate to the high heat and high humidity. When I moved to a four-season state, it took many years to acclimate to the winter cold. Some people are the opposite and can't tolerate heat.
Thank you for giving us names as the horses come in, it really helps me memorize the many horses you have. I love them all, but Jac is my favorite for now😉. I've only experienced 0 degrees once with horses about 25 years ago here in Northern California. I hauled hot water in 5 gallon buckets to thaw my horse water at a rented pasture. The faucet broke and she was on a skating rink! Love your videos.
There’s my handsome boy whether you can get the fancy little coat on Love seeing him come trotting into the barn all the time such a beautiful boy they all are handsome and beautiful but weather just has something I really connect with
Joel you and your parents take such good care of the horses . It seems really simple , water ,food and shelter. We all know how important that is especially in winter Thank you for explaining how it works with your horses . I really enjoyed the video . please keep them coming..
@@A_Stable_Life I understand the stable situation and how much work it is to clean them out the stalls in the morning. I just worry about the negative temperatures, wind, and body moisture from rain or snow. It seems to be too risky. I know there is a shelter by the stable, is there a wind break shelter in the pasture? Is there a thicker warmer coat that can be used in the winter?
@@darlaherbst5929 I appreciate your concern. Don't worry they are definitely happy. They do have shelters in both pastures that offer shelter from wind and rain. Not to mention each horse has different levels of blanketing. From a light sheet to a heavy blanket. And its personalized to each horses needs. Thank you for being a loyal viewer and caring so much about our horses :)
The wind here in my neck of the woods, ESE AZ the winds were 30 mph sustained and gusts to 50 mph for 36 hours solid. I’m not a hater of breezes but gales aren’t not my friend! Lol just rain here but we need it so badly I don’t complain. I imagine if I had to put up with the snow and freezing rain that you have to I’d be very vocal, lol.
Sorry Joel but you can have your cold, snowy winters.I lived 25 years in New Jersey. While I had snow growing up in North Carolina, it was not as much as New Jersey. Last year I was there we got too many snows but last one was up to windows in second story house. We had to use snow blower to make tunnel for dogs to go out. Our Weather here T Gulf of Mexico has not been nice. Our high was 48 with low of 22. Thank you and your family for all the care you give to your horses. You can’t say it’s cold and snowing I’ll just skip feeding today.
Wow! I was wondering how much snow y'all got there. My step brother used to live in Pennsylvania. He passed away. I love watching the video. I am so glad that you kept them in for the bad weather. I have been sharing your videos with friends and family. I am a disabled and retired nurse. The Group will be so glad when Spring arrives As will I will. I hope that y'all had a good Christmas. I love good Christmas Dinners more and more. Lol. See your next video.
When I had my horse (years ago) we would also give her what my step dad called "sweet mash". She was probably a little bit over weight. But, we don't like underweight, skinny (with their ribs showing) horses. They just seem very uncared for. I was out of L.P.N. school when my step dad sold her.
Function over fashion is the only way we survive here in Minnesota near the Canadian border. Skin, eyes, ears, fingers and toes can freeze instantly around here. For example, for the last two weeks our temps have ranged from 0 to -20f daytime to -5 to -35/-40 at night!! Believe it or not our largest city; Minneapolis; is still up and running in these temps. I’m not sure why we stay here, except the state is beautiful and there’s tons of outdoor activities!!
I love how you think those temperatures are cold. Lol Come visit me .... and I'll show you cold lol I have seen people here walk around in shorts at minus 5 Lol We don't bundle up like you did until about minus 35 C. It's all about what one is used to I guess lol Love your channel...and would love to come meet you and the veggies boys ( and girls).
Papa Joe, now the cameraman, and Mama are as busy as ever. Dad keeps an eye on the bad weather and the horses, because winter can't decide between frost, snow and rain. Nobody likes the miserable weather, even cute Lea is fed up with the wet, muddy, cold weather. What??? manor day without joel jr, that's weird. Hey young hayhopper🤣, are you alright? Have a good time stay warm and healthy☘️💫
Joel ty for sharing you r every day working at stable with horses and haveing dad and mom there some times too is pretty cool it really cold here in MI so what saying about really cold
Like hearing the horses names. Hope to know each one by name eventually. I know casino lol. Know it is either Tucker or Weather. Hard for me in video to tell which one is bigger.
Late in catching up on this but that first horse that was let out and started to slip a bit, went oopsie and stepped back to wait for the rest cracked me up.
Looks like Archer got his new winter coat, very snazzy. Please keep those very cold temperatures over there. We will manage with the mud. We could do with some more sunshine. We have only had a few odd flakes of snow so far this year. Looks like one of the horses is training for ice skating, 1:27
Just seen the weather forecast and Pocono Airport is reporting 0F right now. How does that relate to where you are? In England, we are having a heat wave at the moment at 50F. But not much sunshine. So I am off to have a manure day, Barrowing manure from the pile left by the farmer down to my veggie plot. But it is well past the smelly stage.
Question for ya lefty. Can the owners come and ride thier horses on your property whenever they want, or do they have to trailer them to wherever they plan on riding them?
If your using round bails why don’t you put some in each feed bin because some of the horses are lower down in the heard will the others give them a hard time?
I had one that ate the food didnt drink water, called Vet gave the horse alot of mineral oil, I didnt know when he said it will eat a lot of green grass in the morning or thrash. Well after hours walking the horse all night in the morning I was mad the Vet didn't explain to me the awful way the horse would thrash. I never want to see that again ever.
Do you worry about the horses falling when it's slushy and ice like that with the hills you have? Your dad is so much fun to watch on the videos. You always have so much good information.
