I've only seen snow twice... I would be absolutely pooping myself even at half your speed! I'm thinking about switching to orange, 05 525 as I hear RFS is the reliablest one. How many hours you got and how has it treated you? The one I want has 13,000kms, mainly road KMs. I'm super scared to switch to orange as the whole "keep throwing money" nick name for KTM, but that performance is sooo inviting. I just don't have much money and don't want to end up spending all of it on parts :(
I believe my bike had ~350h total and 200h after rebuild when i sold it couple months back😓 I had driven ~100h with it without any bigger issues. Had to change some bearings on frame and re-jet carb and rebuild front shocks, but nothing too crazy. But it depends a lot. Sometimes when you have poorly maintained bike or little bit of bad luck and it might get really expensive really fast.
@@theguywithexc8271 nice nice, so like you've experience what most are saying, maintain it and extremely reliable. I really hope I get the same! I heard the new KTMs are super reliable too, but many have had those electrical issues which I HATE electrical issues
@@mrilikeskateboards Yes i've heard they are pretty good too. But carb gives you little bit more freedom for example if you wanna trow big bore kit, you just need to re-jet carb. But also the carb can be annoying to get working properly. Only real electric issue i had was broken spark plug cap and it's also issue in newer ones. Also the light system on my bike was in terrible shape but it was due to previous owners🤣
@@theguywithexc8271 is there such thing as an enduro with a good light system? 🤣🤣 I have a klx450 and redid the entire wiring and replaced all the lights with LED. Sooooo much better!
@@theguywithexc8271 you can big bore to quite a few different cc 540,570 or even 640 :D I have 525 exc for supermoto and 450 for enduro. Great bikes but I have thought about big boring the 525 but it's only at around 130 engine hours so doesn't need a new top end yet :(
@@gixxer7907 Yeah, i've been tempted to buy 560 smr and put license plates from exc to it but i think the reliability would not be the same🤷 Or 8/06 cam would maybe be nice update
@@theguywithexc8271 yeah I don't think the smr are reliable as exc. Maybe just do what I'm gonna do, when you need a new top end, treat yourself to a big bore kit :D thumperracing have lots of different options for them with different cams etc
