This skin is actually a buff considering he's got a bunch of skills and they're all blue you can't even identify what he's going to throw next unlike the base skin.
I really love the aesthetic of the winterblessed skinline. But my major issue with the skins this batch is that they aren't blending with the champions, which is a recurring issue with returning skinlines (also for champion release skins on that matter). Hwei is a perfect example of this. The strongpoint of hwei's design is contrast. He is a painter that mixes colors for his abilities in game. Lor-wise he mixes his emotions. Why does this skin not enhance this? Like it is the best skinline to do this. The Northern Lights has a beautiful diverse color pallete that most of the time is made of 3 colors. Why is he only blue? WHY???
@@thecringeistoostrong Not necessarily. Every skinline, yes. Riot seems to always pick a champion that fits the skinline great to start it with then fill it up with matching characters following a criteria (that being popular, role and relation with the other champions).
Bro he literally showed diff colors based on the category of his abilities he showed blue, green, and purple. And also this skinline is winterblessed not winter colorful so expect to see most of the skins blue lol.
Just a little request and constructive critique: When spotlighting a heavy VFX-based champion, it is always hard to properly see the differences between each chroma when using his heavy VFX-based abilities in the showcase. That makes the comparison for deciding for a specific chroma hard. So please give him a moment to just stand there, so we can see the actual chroma better (especially when the abilities are not having any special colours for the chromas, just as with this skin - at least I couldn't see any differences). Actually ALL chroma presentations of this channel are like this. A quarter of the frames are empty because of some dashing, rest is miscoloured by special effects and you have to stop video to find the quarter second where you can see the REAL colours of the chroma. But I agree, this one is especially bad.
I hard agree with this and I've noticed older skin showcases didnt twirl as much during chroma demostrations, now its nigh impossible to examine the chromas without having to pause an specific time because the author keeps spamming stuff, please stop doing this.
its also sad because the whole point of the champ is to make each spells feel unique because of his artistic background and now we just can't really see much
They could have worked with a bunch of color nuances already present in the skin line to differentiate the skills more, namely purple, green, blue, and neighboring nuances.
I think mostly q and w are hard to tell maybe w needs a darker green while e has a distinct purple. But I love how each one has a different state, q looks more solid, w more ethereal and e some sort of liquid or mix between the two?
I am not sure, this skin is great but don't you guys think that hwei lost his color? Like It is hard to distinguished what is what now, since the only color of his skills are blue
Love the concept of a painter who uses the colors of an aurora, but I think I still prefer Hwei's default skin all over one word, contrast. Hwei's default skin has so much more of a contrast between each style of skill because of the use of red, blue, and purple (which I personally feel should've been swapped for his ult's yellow but that's a whole nother topic). Don't get me wrong, in comparison to the first iteration, we were shown the contrast between his skills in Winterblessed have been increased with his Q abilities having a brighter light blue, his W using a soft green, and his E having purple (in this context it makes more sense) but it doesn't feel bright or whimsical enough for me. His default skin REALLY plays with the texture and color of paint with the use of brushtrokes, splashes, and even geometric dots when allies run across his W+Q. It takes the ink and paint theme and really goes wild with it but Winterblessed? It feels less fun for some reason. I WILL say his ult in Winterblessed is SO FUCKING COOL the fact that it's the howling icy winds mixed with discordant chimes and bells that run up a minor scale before EXPLODING into a gloriously Christmas-ey chord with a choir and that SUPER satisfying BOOM is damn near perfect and I'll fight anyone who says otherwise.
@@KrissTendoU Compare it with the base colors and u will see the difference, it's rly hard to tell in the middle of a team fight. Riot aways says that their main goal is clarity on the gameplay.
I understand the concept of analogous colors, but if it's all blue and more cool colors, I think it's kinda lame. Hwei is an artistic champ so there should be contrast and rainbows here and there, even on this skinline. Winter isn't just cool colors....
Is it me or in general the skills are still showing various shades of blue? 🤔 Did they change anything? I remember that in the previous video I saw a comment with many "likes" referring to the similarity and lack of distinction between skills. Oh well at least the splashart is still beautiful 😅👌❤
the reason riot doesnt make skins for hwei that much is because if they did they would have a hard time with his skills considering color is a main VFX for hwei
P2W skin. Default has 3 colour palletes for 3 different spell books. This one has one colour pallete. Overall it looks like a downgrade to default skin in looks while making him OP to play.
