three of us made an ep called clippership (as a band called seesaw) that's releasing december 2nd if anyone's interested !~:) will be available on cassette as well here: www.trollkarlenrecords.se/
I've been listening to the EP for a while and it is absolutely stunning. Please keep making music I see you guys as a major force in the industry some day.
I think they could have provised a modification of their parts to make it their own and make it easier/more natural for themselves to perform, but that would be hard and then it wouldn't be a cover. They did perfect. I'd love to see them come up with their own thing too. More forest music!
This cover is closer to the original than live recordings of "Animal Collective". This is really insanely good - unbelievable how the four of you reproduce the feelings of the original! Guys from simonstrash- Record the whole thing again, with proper microphones and better sound quality - please!
I never comment but this cover is incredible and an entire "vibe". All your voices and playing is so beautiful and passionate. Thanks so much for this post
this warms my heart seeing younger kids listen to anco. There used to be many different anco covers on youtube but theyve been slowly been deleted over the years. Really happy to see more being made and shared
still come back to this video often for the vibes of this. i think this is what sung tongs perfectly captures so well and to see it in video too is wonderful.
i've heard many covers of this in my day as an anco fan and this is one of the best one's i've heard this is the closest i've heard to the album verison be translated into a live setting pls be proud of yourselves you all did an amazing job!!!
Your rendition of this song evokes such a sense of nostalgia for me. The incessant thumping on the lid, the rhythmic strumming, the eerie, almost bestial chanting and then the beautiful harmonies. This has been a hard winter for me and this was just what I needed. Thank you!
Same, Ari, very beautifully said. You describe the vibe to a tee. The song served a similarly therapeutic purpose for me during a particularly hard winter. First time falling batshit in love beyond silly childhood crushes. Became a [first] long-distance connection as well. Then losing it violently in 2-3 short months. Began and ended in a magical, snowcovered scape, during the height of our vital, impassioned youth. This tune helped me appreciate those fleeting moments-- the journey itself-- for their/its own sake. To contemplate my own spiritual growth instead of dwelling on the failure and loss.
Sung Tongs has been my fav AnCo album for many, many years, so having heard many covers of songs from that album, this has to be one of the all-time best I've ever heard. Reminds me of how I felt the very first time I listened to the album, captures the spirit and energy of Winters Love perfectly. Amazing job!
This is why I love this song, it's ALL about the feeling and NOTHING else! This song captures the feeling of sorrow to change, but then it embraces the good things about change and that all will get good again. And I felt that through this cover, I like it. That's at least what I took from it.
I never, ever watch cover videos But I’ve come back to this one a few times and it’s amazing. Perfectly captures the essence of the album MORE SUNG TONGS!!!!!!!
I LOVE IT. I wish i had friends to do something like this. can u tell wich chords you are using? and is the guitar on the right a Parlor/00 size guitar?
Thank you! The guitar I am using on the right is parlor sized (a fender CP-60S) The intro is just a D chord until you get to the WA A A a a a o part where we switch between an E chord and a B7 The rest goes something like this: E - G#m - B - C#m - E - B7 - E - E E - G#m - B - C#m - A - B7 - E - B7 Just repeat that until the WA A A a a a o part comes again. Just alternate between E and B7 until the song is over from that point.
